The safest position for a car seat is the place where ti installs the best. If it installs equally well in every seat, the absolute safest is the center rear. If that's not possible, it doesn't matter one bit whether you put it on drivers or passengers side rear. I mean, the safest side would be...the furtherst side from an accident, but since we can't predict the future and know when an accident will occur neither side is 'better'.

The safest place to install a carseat is where you can get the best install. You need to have less than one inch of movement at the belt path.

Please have a CPST (child passenger safety technician) teach you how to install your child's carseat. More than 90% of seats are installed and used incorrectly.

Not that much difference but the safest is in the center, away from the doors, in the event someone T-bones you.

passenger side so driver can see the child when safe to do so
at juctions etc. when not moving
