Retirement is coming soon, Several years ago I was in newspaper. Haven't written a lot since those days except for sermons. Is it too late to dust off those skills and start again?

I don't think so. I think a lot of people who are at retirement age "retire" from their careers to work for themselves. Just start writing and see what comes of it. I would bet you'll see it comes back easier than you imagined! And I guarantee you'll love the freedom of freelancing!

No, retirement age is a very reasonable time to start freelancing. Good luck.

Absolutely not. It's the perfect time because you will have more time to dedicate to your passion. Many small town newspapers use freelance writers because they don't have the resources for a large payroll.

Since sermons probably don't work all that well with the young folk, you probably ought to get moving to a real job, yeah!
