Why to extremists commit suicide?

Question

This is not allowed in Islam. A person who commits suicide goes to hell. What do you think of this quote?

A. Suicide for any purpose is prohibited in Islam. Quran says, “Do not put yourself to destruction with your own hands” (2:195). A Tradition of the Prophet Muhammad says, “And if somebody commits suicide with anything in this world, he will be tortured with that very thing on the Day of Resurrection.” Suicide bombing involves killing oneself as well as others. As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktu, my sister and my friend.

Insha'Allah, there was time when literally all male Muslims and many feamle Muslims knew how to read and write Arabic so as to be able to read the Holy Qur'an. Many also memorized the Holy Qur'an to such an extent that some children, as young as seven years of age, had memorized the entire Qur'an. (This one has only memorized four surrahs and this one is an adult, think of those children! Alhumdillaha!)
When such was the case, it was not as easy a task to mislead the Muslims as they knew the Holy Qur'an as well as any imam and when they heard it misquoted, or being misused, they were likely to politely correct the one who was in error.
Such is not longer the case.
This one has met Muslims, who were literally "born" Muslim (i.e., they were born in a Muslim country, to a Muslim family, in the midst of an Islamic culture, etc.) who can not read Arabic as well as this one and this one does not read particularly well, unfortunately.
Anyone who knows the Holy Qur'an can then, if lead to do the same by Iblis, the rejected, twists the teachings, corrupt the meaning and make others as worthy of hell as they are themselves. The Holy Qur'an warns of this and now, this one is so sad to say, we are seeing this fulfilled in our time.

Insha'Allah, the solution to the problems this creates is so very simple that any person or government who actually wants to help developing nations so as to promote beneficial governments that support and care for the citizens of the same could impliment the same almost instantly. The solution is to build schools, supply the necessary tools and assist in the development of the teachers so that they are teaching Arabic and actually promoting the teachings in the Holy Qur'an rather than the sectarian teachings, twisted teachings and misleading corruptions that are now being passed off as Islam. In one generation, many, if not most of the problems Islam is now experiencing would be resolved for the betterment and benefit of those nations as well as to the betterment and benfit of all of the peoples of the world.

Please, consider a world that would have as an example people living and practicing a pure form of Islam with its tolerance of others and of other religions (even to the support of the same as it has done historically), its justice and understanding, its sense of equality for all person regardless of ethnic background, gender or race, its emphasis on the family and family values and it overwhelming sense of community, its advancement of science and medical practices ( as was historically the case) and so on to name but a few points to consider. Insha'Allah, this one believes that such is a real possibility in this ones lifetime!

Ash hadu an laa ilaha la sharika lah wa ash hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasuluh. This one will chose to stand with his Muslim brothers and sisters in the hope that such a dream may become a reality, insha'Allah and that the current madness from so many corners of the globe and from so many extreme groups (not only those who are Muslim but those of other faiths and political persuations) will be brought to an end. Surly, with the effort of all good persons of good intentions and of good hearts, such can happen. Alhumdillaha!

Your larger point is a good one, on a moral level i say yes those who hold such murderers in high regard are committing a crime. It's not a legal crime, we can't punish it but it is a crime none the less on a moral level. It is definitely conspiracy to commit murder, nothing more and they should not be celebrated they should be hated. Imagine such honoring and celebrating the kids responsible for the Columbine school shooting. It's about equal morally.

Those with more extremist tendencies in Islam tend to view it (incorrectly) as martyrdom instead of suicide. They are more likely to cite a passage such as:

Sura (9:111) - "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme."

Many religions embrace martyrdom as noble and many Roman Catholic saints were martyrs in the early years of the church. However, fighting and dying for one's faith is entirely different than killing oneself to attack others.

Unfortunately, the actions of these extremists lead to many misconceptions about Islam in the West. These extremists do not represent the true teachings and heart of Islam.

Why do children do childish things?
Extremists go to the extreme. They go beyond the commandments and corrupt the message.
They try to force the hand of God.
They try to claim the power and will of God.

maybe they followed that guys teachings that wrote 7 books (while in jail for 10 years) of his own interpretation of the koran...i heard that man was crazy! did he really try to take over egypt? was his teachings really the one that bin laden followed? it was just a quick lesson i learned about a month ago...
