He is NOT about to announce anything.
I was at Montebello yesterday (Monday), and no-one was allowed anywhere near the castle (where they held the meeting), and the press conference they held was very vague and was more of a photo-op than anything else.
And as for the idea of a North American Union, I dont really have any major objections, but many Canadians, Americans and Mexicans do.
My only real objection to the idea is that it would perpetuate the kind of nonsense we're seeing now with regards to NAFTA. This whole "free trade" concept is a disaster, and we should recognize that and get rid of it. If this "North American Union" were to be based on fair trade instead of free trade, I would have no major problem with it.

I doubt any announcement will be so tactless. This is part of a sixty-year plan toward a one-world government. Even Bush wouldn't be so stupid to reveal the true purpose of his meetings with the Mexican President and Canadian Prime Minister. I'm sure the press releases will be couched in vague remarks about 'mutual cooperation'. You have to remember: Bush has never told the American people about the North American Union ever since he first met with these two leaders in Waco, Texas in 2005. Nor has Bush made any overtones toward Congress about this issue. One day we'll wake up to discover that the U.S., Canada and Mexico are now one giant country with one national currency: the Amerco. And because of our own apathy (and the apathy of the most recent bodies of the U.S. Congress) we will be well on our way to joining the European Union, the Asian Union and the African Union as one giant worldwide government with one leader, one military, and one objective: unimaginable wealth and power for a handful and abject poverty for the rest of us. -RKO- 08/18/07

This is the make or break part of the deal. Canada will be lost if Bush steps inside Canada's borders because their courts have already ruled that anyone who has had a DUI is not eligible to even VISIT Canada...including Bush. If he is now permitted into Canada, then it will be a disaster for Mexico, the USA and Canada.

No taking under consideration who has the main to grant/lose to this "union". What available income might there be for human beings? Regard the rather value in money of rectify 3 very different governments, a minimum of three different languages, correcting an extremely corrupt Mexican social gadget and propping up the money gadget of our new companions. in spite of if our present day financial subject did no longer exist this nonetheless looks value prohibitive. i think we are able to realize all the constructive out comes from this way of unification via extra proactive commerce and social rules. There’s continually the previous maxim “solid fences make solid buddies”; it isn’t approximately isolation it’s approximately understand from the two factors. family members like relationships could desire to be worked on continually, they're continually only right whilst it’s a adventure.

Won't happen. Canucks are too smart. They want no part of the War in Iraq, won't give up their National Health and can't use a share of the US National Debt.
Besides, they value Freedom. They might not have a Bill of Rights, but they don't have the Patriot Act either.
Nor do I think that many US Republicans will go along. I can't see them giving away US Sovereignity when they are making such huge profits selling it.
Unlike some of the others, I don't have to wait to hear what he says. IT'S BUSH. Read his lips--he's lying.

I doubt it. I think he will announce military help to Mexico for cartels and maybe something on softwood for Canada, but everything else of import won't be 'announced' at all.
Fedup, I have just changed my mind on joining with Canada. I LIKE that court ruling.

Well...many Americans think North America is just Canada and the USA. Mexico does not even enter the picture because it is still America's backyard in Central or South America. Wrong, wrong. I would be interested in listening to what he has to say, especially now that he is thinking seriously of scrapping the NAFTA.

The Bush would have to order exercises it to attack the capital of Brazil and to kill all ours politicians. We, Brazilians, are tired of as much corruption! The Sadan was an angel close to ours politicians. Here democracy does not exist, and yes, a dictatorship.

Bush doesn't have any power to enact laws or ratify treaties. This power belongs exclusively to Congress.
