Cos if you're gonna breach the first commandment (thou shalt not kill), you may as well do it in style.
All it takes is one over-crazed maniac to push the red button, and we ALL die. So lovely how millions of lives mean THAT much to the ones with the money.
I always live by the theory that there's no greater hypocrisy than telling someone to put down their weapons while holding your own to their head.
It might be effective, but it causes more trouble than it solves.
May peace go with you throughout your life

Why do we have Jails?
Why do we have Court Systems?
Why do we have Policemen with Guns?
As long as EveryBody Acts sorta right, these are All you Need.
But, if a Bunch of People go Fanatic, and try to Take Over in an Evil and Wicked Way, then you Need War--at this Time Period.
It is a Shame, and Innocent People Suffer and Die in a War, but for this time, War is Necessary.
It is Sad.

All nations must be able to protect themselves from those who would try to harm them. Atomic weapons are just weapons so far as I'm concerned . Sure, they kill more, but isn't that the idea of war ?
America has never used an atomic bomb on anyone that hasn't bombed us first. Japan bombed us when there was no decloration of war. By international law, that's pure murder. If the Japs or Germans had the bomb, we definately would have had it dropped on us.
Sure wars would be much gentler fought with water pistols. But if my country is attacked, I'd give them a few big ones in return.
That "Christian" part of your question, I don't understand. It has nothing to do with protection.

To defend ourselves fool!!! If not the Muslims would force the whole world to be Islamists. Besides what determines a Christian nation? True the majority claims Christianity (78%) but if you look at the Great Seal and the Freemasons who founded this country you would think it to be Jewish more than Christian.

First, Sparky, we haven't been a Christian nation for years, and second, we developed nuclear weapons so that we wouldn't be destroyed by the other nations that were developing nuclear weapons.

You would first have to find a Chrisitan nation and ask them. So far, there isn't a Christian nation to be found in this world.

Uh...
To protect them from nations that would kill them, otherwise??
Actually, I've never been in a "Christian nation"...since I've never been in a nation that was ruled by Jesus Christ...but I will be!
His Kingdom is not of this world...we won't need any nukes!
Hey, you're invited, you know!!
