How deep the feelings are or are not depends on the context and who is saying this to whom...
In French, Italian and in most of the romance languages, you always have to use articles. In English the articles are usually "understood". So, I'm sorry to disagree with you Jo, but, in this case, translating the "des" ("some") changes and diminishes the meaning, it becomes too ambiguous.
Personally, I don't think I would like to be told by someone that he has "some feelings" for me.
