I have a sanyo TV that I bought last year. I just got cable installed in my room. I don't have a box. I'm plugging the cable directly into the back of the TV. When I do a channel scan it says its not receiving a signal even though it's securely screwed in the back. I've tried the Cable Antenna option as well as UHF. There is a spot on the menu that says channel scan memory. It says Ch 3 DELETED. I can make it say ADDED as well. Is there something I'm doing wrong or did the guy install the cable wrong?

I doubt the Cable is bad....I think your Tuner may be bad.

Leave your TV set for CABLE mode....

You should be able to recieve Channels 2 to 13 no matter what it's set for.....

Do you have another Antenna jack on the back of the TV? If so, try the other jack.

Still no Picture??
Let's try another Cable in the house.....take it to another room that you can SEE has a Good Cable signal...swap the cable to your TV set....try Channels 2 to 13 again.

If you GET NO PICTURE, your Tuner needs replaced....

IF you get a picture, your Cable on the back of your set may be bad OR the CABLE guy does need to connect your room to the CABLE system.....

No, you are following the correct steps.

Do you have a VCR? Can the VCR see any channels? If yes, then your TV tuner may have problems.

If you have no VCR or other way to test if there is actually signal, call the cable company and tell them you get no signal.
