I'm sure I can't remember them all, but the major ones would include 1874, 1914, 1925, 1975.
Yes, Duet. 18: 20-22 is the passage that tells us that even if ONE prophecy does not come to pass, the prophet is false. Must be that God really HATES these false prophets, for He goes on to say they are deserving of death in His eyes. He also says we have no reason to fear such ones.
Don't let the JWs tell you the org., or Charles Russell, never claimed to be a prophet. That is a boldfaced LIE!!!! A prophet is someone who claims to have a direct revelation from God and who claims to be God's spokesperson. The org and Russell claimed to be such many times and I have all of the quotes from their own materials to PROVE it. The problem is that newer witnesses do not have these old publications at their disposal to review for themselves and they are put in fear of questioning anything put forth by the Society. Even if they did get ahold of these publications, the WT would convince them that they are misreading what they see there.
Suzette: Mairzy is not an "apostate" as she never was a JW. Try again.

Call on me, call on me, I know this one! It's because the way they indirectly but very directly insinuate and declare that every other viewpoint is erroneous (how about calling your little group, "the Truth" for example) is by referring to the verse that says you have to worship in Spirit and in Truth. So, if they aren't getting something right, they aren't channeling the Holy Spirit. To be fair, the whole group appeals to people of a certain concrete personality type who have lots of difficulty dealing with ambiguity, paradox and the like. They want the Bible to be a color by number, connect the dots project that they can read, and be done with.

Why do so many get it so wrong? JWs have no insight into Jehovah's mind other than what is in the Bible. Jesus himself said he did not know when, only his Father knew the time and would tell him when. We do not know more than Jesus, nor does any other human. (Matt. 24:36)
We all can tell when it is near. When you see dark clouds in the sky, you predict it will rain. Wow! Swaummy! In the other parts of Matthew 24, it gives us signs that it is near, just as dark clouds forming. The first 7 verses of 2Timothy ch.3 gives us more as do other scriptures.
The difference is, in the past, they did not imagine things could get worse than they saw then. It did. Now, is this a good thing or bad? People so good hearted they can't picture the depravity men could sink to. I think it a good thing though wrong.
Only a few people thought the US could be hit by a Cat. 5 storm but Katrina proved most people wrong. JWs see the signs for the promised cleansing of the earth by God happening now. In fulfilling Matt. 24:14, we are in all but 3 countries of the world now. 2Peter 3:9 shows why the delay. It is out of love for mankind it has not happened yet. Fortunately for us, we are on Jehovah's timetable, not our own impatient one.

1914 was the first date give out by the organization by then a Charles T Russel, he stated that he received the date by a spirit, he then had 2 more false dates for Armageddon, his successor had 3 false dates a Joe Rutherford. they claim that they are not false prophets because they get new light on things, well if you read Deuteronomy 21:3-4 there is no way out, "if it does not come about as the prophet has spoken it, then that is a false prophet. New light is a scripture that has been taken out of context, it really refers to the quality of a persons life not prophecy.

All religions have their wrong interpretations of "journals" written by ancient man.
What the "end times" mean is similar and closer to be correct as a spiritual cleansing, not a physical war. The Hopi were closer to the knowing, stressing the point that less material equals more spiritual.
If you find a religious movement that thinks less of material, then let us know about it. (don't strain, you won't find it anyway). So there are truthful prophecies out there, just not listed in any Holy Book.
The "end times" will be, when religion ends, period.

I can't recall the actual dates but these come to mind: 1914, 1935[?], ... I forget but there may be a couple or so more.
These were mere "miscalculations" by their powers that be at the time. Over 15 million continue to be within their Kingdom Halls. ...Of course, I'm NOT suggesting that numbers or sheer volume of members have any indication whatsoever of knowing 'The Truth' AT ALL either.
Peace be with you.

so that means that Armageddon is not going to come according to your opinion, then why all the things that the bible says is happening, also when you leaders makes mistakes and they don´t admitted I will apply the same rule to them, of course even with the bible open the will admitted for example tithing is not for christians is in the NT that christians don´t have to tithe , JWs show that to the people but they still insist that is false.

i know a few
1914 (they claim the invisable second coming of jesus - something never verified as a proven fact plus that flies in the face of scripture anyways if you check matthew 28 about the fact that EVERYONE would know that jesus had returned)
1944
1975
and currently (i do stand to be corrected tho) 2035
the only date of significance was the fact that world war 1 started in 1914 - that little fact was TOTALLY missed by the jehovahs witnesses even in hindsight

I studied with an engaged couple (JWs) once. They said the world would end the next year (1972). They planned to get married but not have children til Christ came back. I never knew what happened to them.
Sending you a smile to help pick up your day.
