Do you ever willingly, knowingly contact friends or relitives who have passed on?

How do you know when these people are reborn and cannot contact you? that is if you believe in reincarnation.

Have I? Yes
Will I again? Yes

For me the knowing that they have moved beyond my reach is like dialing a number and getting a busy signal, it's just that clear that they have moved on.

It is my belief that no everyone is reborn, some come into the word to do A thing, they die and are reunited with the Divine. Others must return time and again until they have done all that is needed of them to do.

So far as I can tell, maybe the personality disintegrates within a few weeks, or months after death [I'm guessing on this as a reason a person doesn't run into them 'out there'] unless they are somehow anchored to something in this reality to hold them here. Once the body's gone, maybe there's nothing to hold the personality together, I suspect.

Alternatively, maybe people long dead just end up somewhere I haven't found yet. It's a big place, or group of places.

There appear to be critters residing all the time there, but my impression is they've never had a physical experience. A lot of those appear to hold a relatively consistent 'appearance'

The others a person encounters are either, ground-pounders such as us, either soul traveling, or sleeping and thinking they're dreaming. You can usually spot the ones who are just asleep and involuntary because they're confused, tend to follow one another around, and frequently indulge in 'sex-pile-conglomerates'

Then there's the damned remote viewers, whom you come across a lot more nowadays.

And other differently shaped folk who might be ground-pounders from somewhere else, or might be something else.

But I've digressed a lot.

My thought is that unless the dead personality is somehow stuck betwixt and between there's going to be no contacting him after a short while. And if the person is stuck, he's usually too confused and limited to figure out he's dead. Pausing to explain sometimes helps.

This is a complex subject for a Recon heathen like myself.

On the one hand, we sort of believe that dead is, well, dead---that the soul stays with the body, in the grave, and fades gradually from the memory of the living, which is its only "immortality." That phrases like "gathered into the folds of one's ancestry" or "rejoining my fathers, in whose mighty company I no longer need feel ashamed" are largely metaphorical, just as descriptions of Valhalla, Helheim, and Nastrond are.

On the other hand, my own subjective experience and UPG is that my *OWN* ancestors are a river of light around my harrow, and present at my feasts. I'm not really sure how to square the two perspectives, except to consider that I don't really know *where* I experience them from . . . are they "beyond the veil between the worlds," or simply resident within my bloodline and metagenetic reality? Here because I *remember their names*?

We do believe that their LUCK (and our own, in turn) is passed on to their descendants. It may be that which I experience, since luck signifies and encompasses a lot more in a heathen context than in other worldviews.

i think if they are reborn that your soul can still touch their soul and be able to converse, more likely while you are asleep. that's how i do it anyway. generally they don't tell you much about their new life but may give you images or say that they are well or that they are unhappy in their new place. obviously if they just died and recently came back they can't tell you much cuz they are just laying around sleepin and eatin. but as the years go by you pick up better impressions of them. I know someone who died 16 years ago and that entity is more forthcoming about its life now than someone i know who has only been dead 2 years.

I did contact my grandma before or she contacted me. It was in a dream. I’ve tried to contact others in my dreams. If you write down who you want to meet and what you want to ask on paper before you fall asleep and thin of them, you may meet them in a dream. It doesn’t matter if they have already been reborn. It’s the astral plane, you’ll meet them as you knew them.
You really shouldn’t summon the dead. If that’s what you were thinking.
I’ve met others that I knew in another life, but I didn’t remember knowing them I just felt it. Sometimes I might dream about that person in the lifetime I knew them. That’s cool because you get to see yourself in your past life.

When Dad took his walk we used to contact each other often. But I believe we need to release them completely, as we hold them earth bound through continual contact. We'll catch up with them later.
Blessings

Onlly in the case of healing. Other wise I leave them well enough alone unless they contact me. As for thier rebirth, I just know. Can't explain it.

I don't. Dead is dead is dead.

Whatever happens after death, I'm very sure that no one can really know. It's the last mystery.

But I don't begrudge others whatever comfort they can find in their beliefs. Even those that include contacting the dead.
