When someone gets a miscarriage or abortion there is no funeral?

Why doesn't the census count them?

Why do you say "I have two kids and I am expecting a third" instead of saying "I have three kids"?

Why do you ask your kids if they would like a baby brother or sister when you get pregnant instead of telling them that they already have one?

Why do you say "we are gonna gave baby!" when you break the news instead of saying "we have a baby!"?

Often, there is a memorial service for miscarried children, but that's up to the parents of the baby. And there are a number of organizations which do hold funeral services for all aborted babies to give them the dignity and recognition as human beings that they didn't receive in life.

Just because a baby isn't born yet, that doesn't mean it's any less of a child in the womb than it will be when it sees the light of day. "I'm expecting a baby" is a figure of speech, and obviously the pregnant woman knows that she's carrying a child, not a puppy or a tiger.

When someone has a miscarriage, many people do have a memorial service for their baby that has died. They also bury him/her and add a gravemarker. Why don't you go ask women who've had abortions why they don't have a memorial service for their dead babies.

People say they're expecting a baby, the same way they say we're expecting our mom or aunt from out of town. The baby or mom/aunt is obviously alive and a real person but hasn't arrived yet.

And there's a song by Paul Anka called "Having My Baby" -- that's in the present tense (not the future tense, as in "You Will Have My Baby").

I also have numerous bible verses that refer to a baby as a baby being alive, incl. one that states the phrase "choose life"! But I'm sure you don't want to hear anymore. If interested in them, feel free to e-mail me. Have a good day.

well it depends really. if a pregnancy is lost beyond 20 weeks, the fetus is known as a stillborn. with a miscarriage/stillbirth, if there is an intact fetus birthed, the grieving parents can have a funeral. everything else though, right on the dot.

Why not counted in Census? Census is for the living. People who walked, talked, and lived on this earth.

Technically (in Spiritual Terms) you are Correct.
Those Human Beings End Up Back in Heaven.
And grow up too!
They are Waiting to see the Rest of their Family too.

Its much worse than that. Around 80% of conceptions spontaneously abort and are not even noticed - they just result in a normal period. Why do they not get funerals? Why does not evey failed conception get a funeral?

It just points out the shear stupidity of this viewpoint of where life starts.

*glances about furtively*
*beckons*
Come closer...that's it...closer...I have something to tell you, but it is just for your ears only...
*lowers voice to a bare whisper*
You were once a fetus, yourself...
Now, don't go telling your Momma I told you this...but, she COULD have aborted you...
But she didn't...
Now, aren't you glad??
