Whats the best way for a recent ex-smoker to begin getting back in shape? Something light, My thoughts were swimming or martial arts I am not much of a gym rat.

I'm not looking to lose whieght or get buff just looking to inprove my Cardio and begin to tone up. I hate Jogging and would like something that will hold my intrest.

i constantly smoke, and i refuse to let it stop me!
my personal experience being a total lard *** and then becoming a 2x4. is attitude. your mental state:

first of all: do what you can and don't be ashamed that you only did 2 push ups, because tom you'll do 3! i try and sometimes dont get to it, but to do 10 push ups before i walk out the door for wk. it wakes u up that's for sure.

don't try to run five miles at first. pick a residential city block. walk one side and jog the other and switch off till you collaps. lol. believe it or not but this is how i trained myself for basic training and i had no probs. you'll b surprised at how quickly you advance. dont forget to switch off, jog every other day. then join a martial arts class. prep yr body b4 hand! good luck

walking or swimming are good and drink plenty of water.
