i bought a new laptop yesterday. HP. it was preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium which is pure garbage. Plus, it was preloaded with a bunch of useless applications that i can not even uninstall from ADD/REMOVE. i must delete them manually by deleting each folders. 20GB of 160GB HD was used up already for those junks. So i thought if i could download a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium and do a fresh installation since i have the cd key on the bottom of my laptop. but where can i download it? or get it? i just need the cd. Recovery discs will just reinstall back all the junks again. any help would be great thx!

"So i thought if i could download (STEAL?) a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium and do a fresh installation since i have the cd key on the bottom of my laptop. but where can i download it? or get it?" - BAD IDEA!!!

You're stuck with your HP Recovery DVD (on hard drive?) and all the associated "crapware" that came with it.

Store-bought / pirated Vista won't work.

Ask Microsoft for a copy first or try searching for a free trial copy, if that fails then get a pirated copy but dont use their cracks or patches, use your own CD-key. You'll have hunt for some torrents first, make sure its the full vista not those already patched copies because they'll give u a fake copy. A full vista installation should have all vista version like basic, premium and so on. Make sure the torrent is by a trusted uploader and its well seeded, this will make sure its virus free. Good luck. I'll try doing something about it meanwhile like upload it myself.
