I really want to do that for my birds because free flight is really beneficial for them, but how do I pull it off? The house is really dangerous for birds with un-clipped wings. Is there some way to create a free-flight habitat outdoors?

A lot of websites will teach you how to build your own aviary, it'd be better if you search yourself since i don't know your skill level or room available, anyone who can build a basic table can do it though. Make sure at least part of the aviary is covered and if they never go outside at the moment don't put them out for long at first, they need gradual exposure over a few weeks, start at an hour and build from there.

I have had 3 parakeets, and now a cockatiel. I never clipped any of their wings. I did have problems with my first parakeet, flying into the window, so I only let her out in the evenings, when I pulled the shades. She would see me pulling the shades, and start stretching her wings, because she knew she was going to get out to fly around. My two other parakeets were allowed free roam of the house. Sadly all 3 are gone to bird Heaven now. I have a cockatiel now that has free roam of the house. But we don't have kids running in and out of the house, which would make a difference, and no other pets.

I have a cocktail and I have never clipped his wings, when he is out for his daily flight we draw the curtains so he cant see out the window, we also close the door so he only has access to the room we allow.

if the house is dangerous, you may want to rethink this one. i use to clip my lovebirds -because they chew everything- but not my keets- and my lovies would just stare and stare, so i felt bad and i stopped clipping them. i regret it about 2ice a day but i dont have the heart to clip them again. all 15 of my birds are fully flighted but i make sure its safe for them to do so.
