The physical birthing is only done in the physical. Both beings will go to the spiritual realm-back to the loving essence of God, and this is what we call home, where nothing but pure love abounds, no hatred, just happiness, joy, and unending love.

Children today are coming in to the physical with tough questions so that we become deeper thinkers than what we've done before. Keep her curiousity going, encourage her spiritual side, and you will learn much more about spiritual matters than an 80 year old priest-practicing religion since 5 years old!

Have you asked her what she remembers about "heaven?"
Mention the brothers and sisters all around her, she can tell you a huge amount of information, I did when I was her age my sister informed me (who is 12 years older) of the things I explained to her about the other side, and how I missed them terribly and wished they all came with me!

It's sad how we forget when we grow older, maybe with your outlook on the spiritual, you can keep her memories intact longer, and you can learn much more about our spiritual home.

Theologically speaking, it depends on which version of life after death you subscribe to. Since some branches of christianity believe that in death people are no longer related to one another (god's built-in security mechanism that stops people from worrying about their loved ones that didn't make it to heaven) then for those I'd have to say no, if the baby died too then the baby would be someone else somewhere else and never know who its mother was, nor would the woman remember that she was pregnant.

Some chrisitans reject that doctrine, and believe that everyone is simply sleeping until Jesus returns and judgment day arrives. In this view, the woman would be asleep, and so would the baby. The baby would logically either remain a part of its mother until the end-times and thus be born on judgement day (what a way to be welcomed to the world!) or would sleep next to its mother until that time.

Some believe that the baby would go to purgatory or heaven immediately, while the mother would await judgement. The child would know nothing of its parents, and wouldn't care because it wouldn't know what parents were or what they were for.

My best suggestion for what to tell her, many people believe many different things, and no one can know for sure. Until she does find out, enjoy the life she has around her.

Then buy her a Harry Potter book, so she has something interesting to read.

Jesus promised a resurrection of all who died. So the what we have to consider is, what is life.
Genesis says that when Adam was created God made the body then breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul. So according to that the life of a person is in the breath and an unborn baby does not breath.

Well consider this, how does the baby grow, inside the mother, and exists through her life support system which includes breath.

A question for your little girl, "do you think that Jesus would throw away an unborn child's chance of life because the mother dies?"

I am sure that your little girl will make up her own mind on that.

I'd tell her the truth, especially if you don't believe in the biblical heaven. She will know that you have taught her something you don't believe in otherwise, and what message does that give her?
Tell her the baby dies when the woman dies, because the baby is dependent on the woman for life. Any other answer contradicts what she understands about a woman being pregnant.
If she's bright enough to ask questions like this, then she deserves to be given enough respect to be told a truthful answer.
My 6 yr old daughter has been told that things just die, and that's the end.She thinks it's a bit sad, but understands it's part of life. She has no problem with it.
Tell the child the truth.

(Written for your 6 year old:)

That depends, Sweetheart. Sometimes the baby is almost ready to be born and the doctors can take the baby out of the mother, just as she dies, and save the baby. Other times, the baby isn't ready to live on Earth and the baby dies with the mother. When this happens, both their souls go to heaven. The baby doesn't have to be born in Heaven because babies have souls even before they are born, so they don't have to actually be born before their soul can go to Heaven.

If your child is a typical 6 year old, that should start a lively conversation about the nature of souls. Not sure if this explanation can stand up to theological scrutiny, but it seems reasonable. (Ignoring that I'm actually an atheist.)

Wow, great question from your 6 yr old! They do think of everything don't they? This is assuming the baby dies as well?
I believe in life after death and if I applied my own personal beliefs I would have to say no, she doesn't give birth in the next life. There is no need for birth "on the other side"...as the soul (which is the authentic self) was already born there before coming here to have a human experience. I believe we are all spirits first, humans second.

Pangel,

There have been many instances where they mother has died and they have been able to keep the brain dead woman functioning until the baby is far enough along to be taken by cesarean section. Our medical science has come pretty far, which I guess is good! Though I can see good plots here for horror stories... Baby born Goth... Baby has bonded with respirator...Baby sees dead people...

This could be much more fun if it wasn't so morbid!

I'd tell Pangel Junior that because Goddess loves everyone that if possible the baby would be born on Earth and if not that the baby is in the Summerplace with its mother!

Hope this is what you are looking for.

one 365 days I knew a baby who sat on each and all of the provides. The mom replaced into below the impact of alcohol and the dad replaced into in la la land. i don't undergo in strategies him doing the rest the years after, so in line with hazard he grew out of it. Make him a plate of christmas donuts on the beginning up of the evening. tell him he must be good to get the full plate of donuts on the tip of the evening. Everytime he's undesirable, pass take a bite of one of his donuts and moan saying how goooood it fairly is. tell him you desire he does some thing lower back so which you would be able to take yet another bite reason they're merely soooooo good. If he would not hear, a minimum of to procure some donuts. the different suggestion is to offer him some baby's benadryl, yet on condition that he's a minimum of 50 lbs. or 6 yrs previous (save on with classes on bottle).

I would tell her that the mother and the babies spirit both go to the after life. There are no births in the after life because we are just spirits.

If a pregnant lady dies, when she gets to Heaven it's not in 'the same human body' she has here on earth ... and her 'baby' doesn't need to 'get born' ... it's in Heaven, too. We don't 'know' what we will look like when we get to Heaven ... but it's our 'spirit' or 'soul' that goes to 'the next life' ... and OF COURSE God will take BOTH OF THEM and not just the mother ... God is the MOST LOVING AND MOST FORGIVING ... and that 'baby' that isn't even BORN yet doesn't even need to be forgiven ... so God's Love is ALL IT NEEDS to go to Heaven.
