It's kind of inconvenient if I am riding my bike or throwing the frisbee around outside somewhere. Is there an energy drink that doesn't have this side effect?

Drink water instead, or Gatorade at worst.

The energy drinks have a very high osmotic load, and when they enter the GI tract, in some people (you), it can cause a rush of water from your body to enter the GI tract to balance the high concentration. This can cause the urge to BM or worse, diarrhea.

The biggest single reason people drink coffee with their breakfast is that it keeps them regular. Caffeine has that effect on most people.

Energy drinks have a lot of carbs in them, too. This causes a lot of people to take a dump.

Yeah, it's inconvenient if you're riding your bike. Didn't your mother and father always tell you to go to the bathroom *before* a long trip?

Remove the sugar and caffeine from energy drinks, and you don't have much left.

Haha--sorry. Uh, anyway no, there's not a drink that's going to give you energy you want without instigating bowel movements. This is because like with any energy drink, be it coffee, soda, tea, energy drink, it raises your heart rate. It works up your stomach and gets your digestive tract moving, and just pushes everything out. So I would recommend not using energy products when you're planning on doing any activity that's going to raise your heart rate anyway. You don't need it!

each from time to time i do too, water ought to help, yet i think of its only like a buzz or extreme or perhaps the crash felt when you drink it, possibly only unfold it out over the day, and 5 hour energies are meant to be taken one million/2 in the beginning up then one million/2 later, its efficient stuff.

They don't just give YOU energy...your body gets it too. Your metabolism speeds up, so everything sitting in your system....well, is all ready to come out.

This doesn't happen to me with just one. It happens with two, or if I drink a drink with 4 shots of espresso in it.

If it worries you too much, talk to your doctor.
