Hi! No it can not. I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and I've never seen this to be the cause. However, severe periodontal disease and very decayed teeth can maintain an infection in the blood stream and cause issues with the heart and other organs of the mother, and contribute to problems with the baby, but there is NO proof that is is lethal, toxic or compromises the baby. If that was the case the Native Americans, eskimo and and other native tribes around the would be extinct. M

Interesting question. At this point there isn't evidence of the inflammation from gingivitis actually triggering a miscarriage. However, this inflammation has been connected to premature birth, low birthweight babies, and pre-eclampsia.
To this end, some dental insurance companies are actually paying for pregnant women to have additional cleanings during their pregnancy.

no i dont think so. however serious cases of gingivitis has been suspected to cause blood infection for the pregnant mother. however, if you've got gingivitis, it would be better you paid the dentist a visit. you can also visit this page

Yes, because most gingers have type negative blood. It is recessive and if the father would be type positive, the odds are that the ginger woman will miscarry.
