Depending on traffic, about 2 hours driving to Westhampton, 3-3 1/2 hrs to Easthampton, but it could be as much as 5 or 6 hrs.

Depends on which hampton you want to go to. There are few of them. If you want the one with the rich and famous, that's East Hampton, over 100 miles. If you want the one with the Art Galleries, that's Southampton. The one with the Horse Show, that's Bridgehampton. East Hampton is the farthest. By car from Manhattan about three to four hours. On the weekend, traffic bottlenecks at Hampton Bays.

i have a daughter, 20 months old and i too wonder what is a good age gap. i come from a family with 3 kids, i am the oldest and my sister is 2 years younger than me. we used to fight constantly. i know quite a few people who have the same problem. it has made me wait a little bit longer to start trying for another baby, just in case it is a girl. i know it probably sounds silly, but i really didn't enjoy having a sister close in age to me. my brother is 7 years younger than me - 5 younger than my sister and i absolutely adore him! i know everyone is different, but this is just my experience :)
