depending on where he ends up, it could be as long as six months or as short as a few weeks. In any event, you cannot go before you complete the Overseas Screening and obtain both the No fee passports AND regular tourist passports.. and those are taking 8-12 weeks right now.

There can be a lot of factors involved. 1 if you were married after he went in to the Army then you are not on his original orders and the Army did not let the new unit know he needed command sponsorship. 2. There is a housing shortage in Germany so this can take up to 12 months.
The best thing to do is go to the web page of the area and unit he may be going to and look at the housing waiting list guidelines. The two links I posted can guide you through this and give you information on you new home for the next 3 years.

This is true. He goes first gets to his unit and then goes to housing and gets his name on the list. It depends on where he will be stationed that will determine how long it will be. He can get an apartment off base and you could then join him. Have him look into it while he;s at housing. Good Luck.

You can click on which base in Germany he's going to, and get the directory and find the Housing office.

Good luck

This happened to a friend of mine in the navy when he was sent to Italy. However housing was available in I believe 6 months or so.
