what kind of help do you want? your grandpa is in the hospital, they will do everything they can to make him comfortable. IF he is taking Lasix, he should also be taking potassium, if not, he gets the cramping you describe, so ask the doctor if he should be taking potassium. As far as the fluid collection from the cirrohsis, that is called ascites, and draining the fluid from ascites is not something they do often because it only encourages production of more fluid, so they are probably just trying to go slowly to see how much is gathering at this point. Cirrohsis of the liver is not a good thing, we only have one liver and when it no longer functions we die. I am sorry, but you should be preparing yourself for the fact that grandpa is not long for this world.

Conventional medicine is sufficient, but a lot of times it fails where alternativel medicine could have succeeded.. That's why I strongly believe you should try the "Vibe Machine." This device has produced results that are nothing less than a miracle, and has baffled the conventional medical field.. As a personal testimony, a friend of mine once had mono and was afraid that he wouldn't be able to play hockey his senior year, after two of doing the vibe machine his mono disappeared and his blood levels turned to normal and he was ready to play.. This machine is said to have cured terminal cancer patients and much more.. I strongly urge you to pursue this course for your grandfather's sake.. Type in "vibemachine.com" on the address bar, it's a direct link to the main sight.. Good luck

what are u needing help with sweetie? if its prayer i can definitely do that. but if u dont mind, did ur gramps have a drinking problem. cirohsis of the liver normally derives from some sort of abuse to the liver. lasix is a pretty good diuretic(fluid) and will work fast. if he is in the beginning stage he should be fine but if this is ongoing , only time and God can tell the outcome. keep ya head up and know that there is only one source and one doctor to go to and get the only answer you need and i truly feel you need PEACE.

I'm not sure how it is you want us to help you.
He's in the hospital under medical care.
If you need someone to talk to go to a therapist.
Still puzzled on why you came to Yahoo Answers with this.

The damage is already done, hon. Cirrhosis is very serious---99.9% of the time it is caused by acute alcoholism. I hope they are giving him potassium supplements---that is why he has the hand and leg cramps--lack of potassium. Just drinking some orange juice and eating a banana is will help, but he still needs the supplement.
I'm sorry your grandpa is so sick.

cirrohsis is usually caused by alcohol , if his skin is turning yellow , then he will be in trouble , there are treatments , but these only buy time if the liver is on it's way out , does he still have his gall bladder, this will help if he still has it , he may have to change his diet if his liver is not to badly scarred . good luck to the poor man , like the rest are saying , I will pray for him too
