Was it the Jehovah's eye witnesses they are referring too? But, i keep hearing that they are a lying cult so, does that mean the bible is fake?

I have a feeling this is one of 'those' questions wherein the asker is only looking for answers from those who agree with him. Still, here's the benefit of the doubt in action.

The Bible is written by men borne along by Holy Spirit. Instruments used by Jehovah to accomplish his purpose. These men were certainly witnesses for and of Jehovah, but not Jehovah's Witnesses.

As has been stated hundreds of times here, we will use whatever Bible you may have, but many of us prefer the New World Translation. It's easier to read and understand. It is also been called the best Translation to date. (Yes, including being a question on Jeopardy: Most accurate Bible: A. The New World Translation)

The issue of being a 'cult' is just an insult those less informed bandy about. Cults follow a single man, usually one who claims he's some prophet...they do not live in the community, but separate themselves, becoming isolated. They do not invite the general public in to their meetings. Everything about them is secretive. Jehovah's witnesses live and work in the community. They are your neighbors, your co-workers, the guy in the car next to you. Anyone may come into our Kingdom Halls during any meeting and be welcomed to sit and observe, even take part. Nothing about what we do, who we are or what we believe is a secret. We are not a 'cult'.

Hope this helps.

Ok, not sure of the question but I will try to answer.

The Bible is considered by many to be an inspired book, many of the smaller books within were written by eye witnesses of these events.

We Jehovah's Witnesses in turn take our name from the fact that we Witness, IE, offer a testimony to/share information about, Jehovah. Whether we be correct or false has no bearings on the validity of the Bible. The Bible was written long before we took the name Jehovah's Witnesses. We simply try to follow the teachings found in the Bible.

The New Testament is definitely based on eyewitness testimon, in the sense that at least two of the gospels are said to have been written by people who knew Jesus personally (Matthew and John). Mark and Luke are second-generation Christians, so to speak -- they knew people who had met and spoken with Jesus. Paul never met Jesus in the flesh, but definitely had an encounter with him in the spirit.

But even eyewitness testimony can see contradictory. Just attend a trial in court if you aren't convinced of that. And the same story is reported different ways by different journalists. The evangelists (the writers of the gospels) are not lying -- they are merely telling the story from their own perspective, and for the audience for which they were writing.

Don't confuse Jehovah's Witnesses with witnesses of Jesus.
The JW's are lying to you and their members.

The New Testament is about Jesus and the people who wrote in there are actually witnesses of Jesus.
JW's and the truth know each other briefly. Don't smear the Bible with the bad things that happen with the Watchtower!

there are actually precious few actual eyewitness events proffered in the bible and that fact is irrelevant to the overall veracity of the bible. in other words, the bible is a collection of stories written by human beings and some of those stories represent broad ideas, and some are meant to illustrate human frailty, and some are simply good entertainment. the bible is not "fake", it is a real thing just like any other book you find on the shelf. is the bible the "word of god"? no, it is the words of humans with agendas...

Well that is a good question but yes, the Lord has witnesses when he revels things to man when it is for all mankind. He may give personal revelation to a individual with out witnesses. But for the world you will find three witnesses or more. That is why he has Prophets and Apostles. However they are not in the JW church.

Why did God let Hitler destroy Europe?

Was it free will or did God want the Jews dead?

Why did My Grandfather survive holacaust without even being a jew in an extermination camp?

Why am i alive when my family was destiend to die was it a miracle?

If so why did they have to suffer in the first place?

Can you answer these questions?

No, but you can assume in your opinion. But is your opinion accurate? Is your God accurate?

Who knows...

Ps. i remember some passage in the bible mentioned a story about jesus coming from the dead then one of his disciples not boleiving him. Jesus took his finger and stuck it through the holes in his hand and finaly he was a boleiver. The point was that there are many need oroof to boleive, but they cannot have faith in what is unkown. Faith is above us and therefore we cannot fully understand it. Like in this world we search for the accurate answers for better technology we are left with pollusion, but faster transportation. Is it really worth it? We need to know to much. We don't need to know we just want to know. It is better to not know somtimes because the truth can be....

Who knows..

No the bible is not a fake, people just chose not to believe in it so they have to come out and say something, there is a magazine called archeology and the bible you might want to check it out, for a lot of what is in the bible is also rooted in history.
