Their is no good "excuse". Your "friend" should do his or her schoolwork. There are occasionally real reasons it doesn't get done, but those are the kinds of reasons that are easy to verify with a call home to the parents. For instance a death in the family, or a bad accident, a house fire, or flood. So unless any of this happened to your "friend', I can't help.

Of course there is no excuse teachers haven't heard and you should do it to avoid being dumb...but just for fun:

1) You had a rare migraine headache that was so intense your nose was bleeding the moment the pen touched your paper - so you had to stop.
2) Your younger brother bought an Iguana that miraculously can speak French so you were stuyding French all weekend to learn how to tell the dang thing to stay off your bed!
3) You were obducted by aliens for the entire weekend and miraculously returned just in time to go to school, knowing full well no one would believe you about what happened - so you didn't bother to tell anyone. Then say "aren't you glad I'm still alive?"
4) You made the world's best pasta sauce over the weekend and it attracted a family of Italians that were visiting next door...next thing you knew your homework was missing! You later found out they used it to wrap up some of your sausages to to take home with them.
5) You were watching Jurasic Park and decided the topic you were studying had no bearing on your new goal of becoming a Paleontoligist - so you blew it off and rented every episode of the Flintstones to educate yourself about Dinosauers.
6)Beckham kicked a soccer ball through your window and it knoked over a brand new bottle of honey which caused a swarm of bees to attack your room - being highly alergic to bee stings you spent the weekend cowering in the batroom until the weather change caused the bees to withdraw to their nest.
7) You discovered a thick black liquid in your backyard and figured you struck oil and wouldn't need school anymore - until you found out it was the septic backing up. Then you decided to come to school.
8) Tell him it is against your religion to do homework on your sabbath. He will ask "when is your sabbath?" Tell him " the day after homework is assigned and and the day after that if is assigned on a friday."

Anyway - have fun - whatever excuse you use.

If you would like to base that choice on some facts, and do some research on the subject to back up your reasons, or opinion; I would recommend reading the following book; The Homework Myth by Alfie Kohn.
You may be able to check it out from your local library; if not use the inter-library loan program.
Amazon. com carries the book as well.

For further information on the Homework Myth go to:
http://www.alfiekohn.org/books/hm.htm

I would recommend listening to the interview, even many of the home school parents fall into the trap of the "work sheet -- busy work" trap; busy work is not just a school problem, it also happens at home.

My dog ate it XD
Okay...
I was sick last night and couldn't do it.
I'm sorry but I had a major anxiety attack/break down and I just got so frustrated (works best for a girl)
It just made no sense to me and I was wondering if you could help me with it?
Some older kid took it from me on the bus and threw it out the window.
That's all I got

Once, my cat ate my homework and my teacher didn't believe me. It's a true story. I was sitting on my bed and she was in the closet and she ran out and jumped on my bed and ran back into the closet with my paper. She ran behind the boxes that were in my closet and when I was finally able to get it, it had teeth marks all over it and she ripped a piece off.

Death. Of the person doing the homework. There is no excuse. From a mom who has heard it all.

Here are some excuses....

I didn't do it because I didn't want to add to MY TEACHER'S already heavy workload.

I made a paper plane out of it and it got hijacked.

I put it in a safe, but lost the combination.

Some aliens from outer space borrowed it so they could study how the human brain worked.

I loaned it to a friend, but he suddenly moved away.

I left it in my shirt and my mother put the shirt for washing.

My little sister ate it.

Could not log on to indianchild.com.

A sudden wind blew it out of my hand and I never saw it again.

I was kidnapped by terrorists and they only just let me go, so I didn't have time to do it.

The lights in our house went out, and I had to burn it to get enough light to see the fuse box.

Another pupil fell in a lake, and I jumped in to rescue him but unfortunately my homework drown.

I used it to fill a hole in my shoe, you wouldn't want it now.

My father had a nervous breakdown and he cut it up to make paper dolls.

I didn't do it, because I didn't want the other kids in the class to look bad.

You should do your homework rather than spending your time looking for excuses to not do it.

If the work is truly too difficult for you than say so. You may need to be tested for learning disabilities.

I couldn't do my homework because my hand was cut off in a sawing accident over the weekend. Then, have bandages covering one of your hands with fake blood on them.

Tell the teacher that you really want to be an under-educated loser. Let her know that your goal in life is to watch T.V., work at 7-11 and have morons for children. I'm sure she'll understand.
