Sticky toffee pud is MEANT to rise!! If you want it to keep it`s shape either cut down the amount of liquid slightly or cut down on the bicarbonate of soda slightly or allow the pud to cook a little longer

The sponge is meant to rise. To stop it falling, stop opening the oven before it's cooked! When it's ready, it'll shrink from the sides of the tin slightly

to stop it rising make with plain flour and leave out the baking powder this will also cure the sinking problem
