My step son has had a drug problem for 2 years and I have tried everything to help him. I love him like my own son but because of all the problems it has torn my family apart. I am the "mom" or have been for 10 years. His father and birth mom have done nothing. He got caught AGAIN with drugs and he told us that the reason he does drugs is because he was molested from his uncle...
He is seeking prof. help but I am kind of not believing him...Am I out of line?

His behaviour is quite self destructive...maybe you should sit him down and make him aware this is a serious allegation for all parties. Maybe there is some truth to it and you should support him in this for now. If it is a lie, as sure as eggs is eggs the truth will prevail. Maybe look at the lack of attachment with mum and dad and how this happened. Does his history suggest 'made - up' allegations? Good luck

Contact your localauthorities and let them handle the whole situation.Theyll figure out the truth here and if charges are needed against the uncle,theyll do it. Do it for the boy as he doesnt need this crap before it really gets serious and someone gets hurt. Give the boy the benefit of the doubt, and notify the authorities.If true,the uncle seriously needs help and off the streets before he hurts another boy.
