The exact meaning is "taken" also means "carry", "done" etc depends the situation.

eduthu would mean took but you add an e to that and eeduthu in northern kerala would mean "Where". There are so many interesting terms we use viz, eeda is another usage for "where" eg .. njee eeda poinenu ( Where did you go ). and the reply would be njayan aada vare poyathapa. There is more to this .. I'll write about it some time when I get a chance.

'edukkuka' means to take. 'eduthu' means took.
