The parvo virus (not his spirit) remains for at least 6 months. Other dogs can become infected if they go into the home. Your mom's friend should not get another dog for 6 months or more.

If she does get another dog, she needs to be sure the dog is vaccinated timely and properly.

He has probably crossed the rainbow bridge and moved on to greener pastures. If he died from parvo, tell her not to get another dog till she talks to a vet about disinfecting her house

Don't you know anything about dog spirits...Geez!

His spirit is now running with the wolves in the deep, dark heavenly forest, where he eternally chases rabbits, retrieves dead birds, and becomes the invisible guardian angel of his original owner who raised him since he was just a helpless puppy...

(Incidently, that's the same forest where God sends Mailmen to be eternally punished for stealing mail...)

spirits are unpredictable. He may stay in the home or could travel elsewhere. But I don't think you'll have to worry about the dog spirit causing any problems.

when anything dies, the spirit dies with it...ghosts are made up in our imaginations so we can deal with getting on with life...spirits only live on if people need to believe that...once something is dead though, it doesn't know anything...so no need to worry about being haunted...that's what dreams are for...to help people move on after losing something...

Clean the room very good. Do not introduce other dogs into the room for several months...at least that is what the vets say.

I am so sorry to hear that. It will be in heaven. I think that it misses you and your mom and your mom's friend. I am very sorry. Maybe you or her could get another dog to cheer her up. She must be sad. One time one of my fish died and I was sad. Then I got more fish and they made me happier.
I hope I helped you.

I am sorry.
