I would think so. The aching comes and goes. Saxophone has a relatively loose embouchure in comparison to clarinet and brass instruments. Just give it a rest when it hurts then come back to it. Take an ibuprofen every once in a while. You should be fine.

Definitely play piano. It's pretty easy and once you learn it, you can pretty much master any instrument. There is a bass cleff and a treble cleff in the music (unlike saxophone and most instruments) so you have to use both hands to play different notes at different times on different keys so it may be a little bit of a challenge if you don't have cordination but the bright side is once you have cordination on the piano, you're a lot better at video games too! You can't play chords on a saxophone either and you don't have to have lung power to play piano really well. I play clarinet and the reed really bugs my teeth so saxophone isn't good if you have sensitive teeth. If you play piano, you can play in all the same bands as you would if you play saxophone plus you could play keyboard or keytar in a rock band. It's also a lot easier to transpose the music into different major and minor keys on the piano. It's EXTREMELY difficult to learn how to do that on the clarinet so I'm guessing it's hard on the saxophone too. Piano also sounds better solo than a saxophone does. Saxophone sounds okay solo but it's better in a band. Important: If you decide to play saxophone you will sound TERRIBLE when you first start but after a few weeks you'll get much better tone and it will be a lot easier from there. Don't give up. edit: wow, I just realized how much I wrote. I better get 10 points lol

I agree with the first answerer that you should be fine. Tylenol or motrin should alleviate the pain. Call your dentist and ask this question. They have the experience. Ask your music teacher as well. It shouldn't be a problem as long as there is nothing else wrong.

oh i see i used to have braces but i got mine off now but you should still be able to because you blow you but im sure your teeth touch it eventually but when they get tighten it should hurt but touch it gently and play a bit more relaexed and calm that should help out but braces arent that bad because you will get used to tightening and stuff so yeah well good luck this year :)
