Men are known for their practicality they are, when it comes to empting their bladder.
I stated this in a former question:

"Recently, I read on this board about a guy who was asking if it was okay to urinate in the kitchen sink.

I wonder if there are even odder places where it has occurred to men to expel the TOXIC RESIDUES OF THEIR KIDNEYS."

Is this correct? (Mainly the last line?)

Above, that should read:

(Pardon for the lapse).

No - urine is the product of the kidneys' cleaning of your blood.

It is not toxic, although it's not a good idea to drink it (think about it logically - your body just filtered that stuff OUT - why would you want to send it through again?)

Unless you have an infection, urine is sterile.

That being said, peeing in the sink is just plain disgusting. It is never OK.

Urine is a waste product of the body after filtration by the kidneys. Being a waste product does not mean that a substance is toxic or harmful. It only means that such waste substances cannot be absorbed by the body at the present time as certain body balance has to be maintained.

For most people most of the time, ones own urine is not likely to be harmful. In fact, (not unless a person has a disease), the fresh urine is sterile. There are some people who believes and uses fresh urine as medicine, tonic, or antiseptics. However, it generally sounds not healthful or useful except on rare occasions just like when one is buried under a collapsed building. In such situations drinking ones own urine might be the difference between life and death.

Putting into consideration that a fresh urine is sterile, it simply points out that it is more cleaner than the sink which possibly harbors different kind of bacteria. That would make peeing at the sink not harmful at all and won't make any contamination. But the thought of peeing on the sink is just totally gross - not because of the thought of urine being toxic (which is not), but probably to some preservation of some hygienic aspects of human minds.

Ahem, steppin onto hallowed ground of the man pee legends here.
Pee is urine is the byproduct of flushing your blood, and dumping the eliminated matter into your bladder.
It wont be toxic until your whole system is toxic, so keep up on that millers, but lay back on the drinks Homer shouts you.

Urine is and is definitely used, as a drinking fluid in many places, including the darling US, where unfiltered or otherwise by man it reappears in your drinking water.

Anyhow, big fella, who says practical women caint pee in a sink if needs must, even a glass if I have too. Im pretty sure I washed it before I poured out your cold beer....

The kidneys reabsorb or secrete substances into and out of their tubules depending on what is going on in our bodies at any given time. The composition of urine will vary from time to time. Normally the urine is mostly water with solute particles of, urea (formed by the liver from the deamination of amino acids) uric acid ( by product of nucleic acid breakdown) creatinine, and various ions or electrolytes. It could depending upon the condition of the body contain certain bacteria, drugs, histamine, and ammonia. The composition of urine is very indicative of what's going on in our bodies which is why the doctor usually takes a urine sample when attempting to diagnose medical problems. Toxic, however is not a term usually applied in describing urine.

Well, urinating in the sink is disgusting and he'd clean my sink if he did so! Nevertheless, "toxic" is not appropriate since urine is not toxic. It is in fact relatively benign and some people are known to drink their own urine. I'm not about to drink a cup of pee, but I know that it is not toxic.

As to weird places, I have expelled over the side of a canyon and at the side of many fine interstate highways in our country.

Urine is passed by a process called micturation. It's also called by its lesser name urination. Urine is water that contains salts and other wastes from the body, but is not toxic. Urine can be safely reingested. Also its from the entire body, the kidneys merely help to filter it. If anything, it's the toxic wastes of the bladder. But technically:

1) It's not toxic
2) It's not the residues of their kidneys, but of the body.

From my understanding, urine is actually a rather clean substance. This is in part due to the high concentration of urea (amonia).

I don't think urine is "toxic". As a matter of fact, in an emergency, you can survive by drinking it in place of water for a short period of time.

No. It is a product of the kidneys, not a residue. It is toxic, but not strongly.

of course it's toxic and if not why patients with kidney failure die in days if they didn't have their dialysis.
