Did god invent bread and the oven and he showed this knowledge to Adam (or Eve) how to handle things to finally make the bread? Or did Handy Adam and Enlightened Eve already invent the oven and bread in The Garden of Eden? If so, where did he get the knowledge from if he had not already eaten from the tree of knowledge?
Should I just stop reading the bible?

Atheists: I've always been an atheist, and I don't think reading the bible will change that. Still I may ask questions about this book or not?

Han:
It probably is a translation problem. This shows again how fragile this bible is while many people are taking it as literal truth (as I am trying to do while trying to find explanations for what's written in this book)

BUNNIES:
So god said: you will eat bread from now on. Adam and Eve left the paradise and invented something they called bread without knowing if this was actually what god meant?

Then if bread is meant as "all food", why did Adam and Eve eat the illegal fruit in the first place if there was no biological necessity to eat at all, since eating is the punishment?

No, don't stop reading the bible. Just stop trying to mock it. You are not funny by a long shot. Try reading it to get understanding and seek God instead. Visit a bible based church and attend a bible study. They can answer your legitimate questions.

BTW: Bread in that verse refers to all food. Adam (man) disobeyed God by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Prior to that, God provided everything for him, without man having to labor. Prior to disobeying, all man had to do in Eden was commune with God. Now he has to labor for both his food and his understanding (if you consider that bread is also spiritual knowledge (ie) Jesus said he is the bread of life.) You need to get to work (understanding God) before night falls in your life (death/spiritual death.) Jesus also said we need to labor while there is day, no man works in the night (after it is too late.)
I wish you God's blessings, understanding and peace.

Why? Do we constantly have new inventions everyday? Why is that of any significance to you or anyone else? Why???

When a Black man invented the stop light and the mailbox, should we ask God if he invented it of the men who did? I mean it's meaningless and if you don't read the Bible with the intention of gaining accurate knowledge instead of focusing on the matters that are of meaningless result to you or anyone else, then you will stay blinded.

Don't sweat the small stuff but get the bigger picture of what you learn that brings your life in harmony with Godly standards, not who made bread and the oven????

All great ideas I believe come from God. He probably helped the first humans to make bread. Because making Bread doesnt seem like somthing you would just try out. Hmmm Im going to use this wheat and...

Also no you shouldnt stop reading the Bible. The Bible is very confusing but you should continue to decipher it. A good way if your into the Bible. Buy the afican american Bible tapes. There really amazing.

"all your life you will sweat to produce food -- untill your dying day. then you will return to the ground where you came from, for you were made from dust, and to the dust you shall return"

where does bread come into it?

i always thought it was about farming + being buried in the ground when you die..

maybe you have a different translation.

but dont stop reading the bible, the more you read, the better you will understand it, i'm sure =]

Adam was Created PERFECT.You Suggesting that Adam was a complete Idiot. Adam could Talk, think and " Invent" as you say. In fact God brought before Adam “all the domestic animals and . . . flying creatures of the heavens and . . . every wild beast of the field,” the naming of which was given to Adam as one of his earliest tasks. (Ge 2:19, 20)
So Adam NAMED all the Animals as recorded. Perhaps your " Oven" Mystery pales In comparison.

No. Keep reading. You are learning that God created everything and that is very important. Without God there is nothing. Keep reading. You are doing great.

Interesting but you need to keep on reading your bible.
One explanlation could be that, yes, God gave them the bread just as He provided bread to the Israelites in the desert. (you'll see when you get to Exodus) but now after the fall they were going to have to labor for it themselves. (sweat of their brow)

Adam was given food to eat in Eden. After he was driven out he learned from experience.viz., "By the sweat of his brow."
