I am5'5", and 120 lbs., which I maintain rather easily with running, walking, yoga, etc. I do have, however, this nasty "roll" of flabby skin which lies right above my hip bones, encircling my waist, that will not go away no matter how many crunches/sit ups I do. Does anyone have any suggestions on exercises that may help with this? Diet wise, I am mostly vegetarian, except when I succumb to the occasional slice of bacon....

Exercise more. Eat differently. Spot reducing is a myth. When you burn fat, you burn it off of all your body, so there is no belly-buns set of exercises. Walk for half an hour a day. Park at the far end of the lot when you go to the store. Bring in the groceries one bag at a time. Diet wise, watch high sugar fruits such as oranges. Don't put a lot of sugar on fruit or margarine on veggies. Cheese is a not very often. Your occasional slice of bacon won't hurt if it really is occasional.

Unfortunately, when you've had a pocket that long it may mean that the skin is too stretched to return to its norm. I would suggest a free consultation with a plastic surgeon who can tell you if yours is bad enough to require surgery to correct or if there are other exercises you can do. One thing that may help is exercises that concentrate on the abdominal muscles tone and definition. Your diet sounds like it is on the right track, so I doubt its diet related. Sounds more likely that its either been there awhile (like a woman who has had children) or is simply genetic (does your Mom, Grandmother or other female relatives have this shape?). As far as exercises go...strong, small, highly dynamic tension filled movements will produce the most effective results in the areas of upper abs, lower abs and obliques. Good luck!

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website

the flab you are talking about will not go even if u do a lot of crunches or sit ups instead you should do sprints and other cardio excercises like skipping.....avoid oily and greasy food and include a good amount of fruits and vegetables in ur daily diet
