I've been using aloe but it doesn't seem to be doing much good. Also, how long do bad sunburns usually last?

If aloe isnt doing much good, try solarcaine or other otc medication for burns. Stay out of the sun and wear loose clothing. You will likely find it in the same aisle as band-aids. They usually only last about 3 days, but some can last a week or a little longer. Take luke warm showers or baths, not hot. Do not pick at the skin if you start peeling. And do not scratch when it starts itching. Keep it moisturized if it starts to peel. Put more medication or aloe on it when it itches. Solarcaine is for itching as well. I swear by it!

-Take cool water shower for 15-20 minutes, three to four times a day.

-Acetaminophen is recommended to relieve the discomfort of the burn for several days.

-Use a moisturizing lotion.

- Drink plenty of fluids

-If the burn is severe (blisters), or if there is a fever, consult your doctor ..
