I work in a secure office with no windows and no sign of outside life. I often wonder what I would do if I found myself opening the door to the office and realizing that I had missed the rapture. Being "Left Behind" is definitely a fear for most Christians. I know that the end of days are coming, no one knows exactly for sure when. Although the book of Mormon has aligned it with the Mayan Calander as being December 21, 2012. I don't believe that though because the scripture is clear that the day is not known. Anyway, I do not care what anybody has to say on Yahoo, I am doing my best to live a life that will ensure that I will not have to experience the entire book of Revelations.

The "antichrist" has actually been around as long as Jesus has been. Antichrist is that spirit that denies that Jesus is God, and it seems to be doing a thriving business these days.
Alot of folks seem to have gotten the idea of an "antichrist" mixed up with Revelation's "beast". There really isn't much to go on to turn that thing into a human being...more like a system of government, or something similar.
Somehow, someone got the idea that one could take Daniel's vision of seventy weeks of years, and cut them off at the 69th week, although how, exactly, they figure that works is beyond me. Daniel is quite clearly prophesying the coming of Christ, the Messiah...he says so, even, before he writes his vision down. The seventieth week deals with Jesus, not some super-ruler.
It is the beast that makes war with the saints...that is, the followers of Jesus, and overcomes them. I think that is happening right now, as we see people working hard to obliterate every vestige of Christianity from the public arena...even here, in America, where we are guaranteed "freedom of religion", some are trying to twist it into "freedom FROM religion".
I think it's coming, and probably soon...but I don't think it will be the way anyone thinks it will.
It'll be like it was with the Jews. "The Lord, Whom you seek will suddenly appear"...and most of us won't be ready to meet Him at all...

The end of the world is something to look forward to, because it's not the end of this planet but the end of wickedness. Notice 1st John 2:15-17 which says:
"Do not be loving either the WORLD or the things in the WORLD. If anyone loves the WORLD, the love of the Father is not in him; because everything in the WORLD -- the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes and the display of one's means of life--does not originate with the Father, but originates with the WORLD. Furthermore, the WORLD is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever."
Did you notice what world was being talked about here?
The planet has done nothing wrong. Isaiah 45:18 says that God made the earth to be inhabited and Ecclesiastes 1:4 says the earth will be here forever. It's the bad that needs to be rid of. Like a garden only the weeds are pulled out.
Jesus said at Luke 21:28 "raise yourselves erect because your deliverance is getting near."

The spirit of the antichrist is on this forum. We have a world without end. The meek will inherit the earth. New heavens and new earth are coming, but the world is without end.
The antichrist will set up world peace for you for 3 1/2 years.

I think the end of the world is sooner than anybody realizes, but it won't turn out the way everybody expects it to. I know the mental images tend to be those of blood, fire, and destruction, but stop and look around you right now, the world is already being destroyed. If you look at prophecy's like millions of Christ's people will be destroyed, think of the halucaust. If you want to know what it will be like to have a good portion of the forest burnt up...well that's happened too. If you're looking for battles, they're constant. But I don't think the end is as relevant to the physical danger everybody wil be in, as it is the spiritual danger and destruction already emminent in every portion of the world today.

Why, why, why oh, effin WHY do religious people feel the need to cook up these absurd notions of antichrists and apocalyptic endings? If you put your bibles/Korans/etc. down for five minutes and look at a history book you'll find that there are many examples of quite mortal humans who have found enough ways to ruin other peoples lives to keep even the most bloodthirsty nutter happy. If there is an antichrist he isn't showing up due to stage fright-how can he possibly follow our act?

Everything that has a beginning has an end.
The only thing eternal is the eternal spirit; and those who were eternal in his mind before time was created; before God was even an object of worship. That spirit is manifest in Christ Jesus by whom the worlds were created.
The Antichrist is a religious spirit presenting as beauty and enlightenment; the anti-thesis to the true light that came into the world. It offers ritual death for true life; seeking and gaining worship in the affairs of men.

many scholars agree that the antichrist does not refer to a future figure, and I agree. 666 = the name of either Nero or Domitian, or both. they were emperors who persecuted the early christians. The book of revelation is mainly useful because it contains many symbols about the life of the church. The key thing to remember when reading/studying revelation is that the concepts in it do not refer to the future, but to ALL TIME. I recommend you check Saint Augustine's City of God, because the last few chapters deal with the end of Revelation [Satan chained for a 1000 years etc.]
You would be well advised to avoid getting involved in all this rapture-watching. It 's unhealthy because it's too speculative. The bible is a spiritual guide, a revelation from God, not a fortune telling book where we follow our own whims to interpret world events. The Bible should not be used in this way.

I think it would be really bad. I have an opinion of what the "antichrist" is and I think if anyone didn't believe in this "antichrist", they would be killed. Life would be miserable.
I hope it never happens but look at the news. It's beginning to happen and I'm not being cryptic. Just open your eyes and ears.
I don't think the 'antichrist' is a person but a certain belief system.

It seems that the fear of burning in hell keeps some people from doing bad things. So if believing in it makes some people live a better life, then what is the harm?
Me---well, I try to be a good person just because it's the right thing to do. I don't think there is a end to the world in the Biblical sense, and I do not fear the nebulous Biblical predictions. If I'm wrong, then the Christian god isn't a very nice deity, is he?
