I've read so many good things about cooking with coconut oil for a long time now. I thought I'd try it.

How does it taste to cook with though? I'm a big fan of FRESH coconuts. But all the coconuts I've bought in stores have tasted disgusting. Nothing like the real thing. I don't know what's wrong with them. Anyway, do you taste the coconut flavor very much when cooking with the oil? From what country should the oil be from?
Thanks

Most tropical oils such as coconut and palm oil are loaded with saturated fats. Saturated fats have been shown to raise cholesterol levels which will lead to heart disease. In very moderate amounts including some of these fats in your diet would be OK, but I would suggest that you limit them to small amounts added to neutral oils such as canola for flavor only.

No, and it's bad for you.
