That's not an easy question to answer. Paul of Tarsus is responsible for much of what Christianity is today. But the Christian faith is based upon the Jewish faith. Which in turn is based upon earlier god-beliefs. I think you can track this line all the way back to the dawn of self-awareness and worship of sun and moon gods, i.e. the (then) unexplained and unexplainable forces and cycles of nature.

God started with a relationship.
Man necessitated religion. Man had to go through some rites and traditions. Man added many more over the years. Religion then turned to man attempting to reach God.
Now, because of the work of Christ, God reached out to man and man now has a way to come to a direct relationship with God. Jesus bridged the gap. We don't have to go through any rites, performance, penance, be in any position, worship at a certain place or any of that. We just have to acknowledge that we are lost in our sin apart from God. If we believe that Jesus died and rose again and that because of Him we can be forgiven our past sin, we can come to God repenting of all our life of sin. Then, we can continue a life with Him - in personal relationship.
Christianity started after the resurrection and Ascension of Jesus. The apostles and others of the Church were called "The Way", as Jesus said, "I am the Way..." Later, in Antioch, they were mockingly called Christians, or "little Christs". Since we are all to imitate Christ, they received the name gladly and did not see it so much as a mock.
Jesus "leveled the playing field" of religion. He came to bring men to God. He told the woman at the well that those who worship must worship in Spirit and in Truth, that it did not matter whether anyone worshiped on the mountain or in Jerusalem. He was establishing the return of a personal relationship with God, as it was from the Garden of Eden until sometime after Moses. The religious part grew because man wanted the rules, rites and pageantry, but neglected a relationship with God.

I don't think there's an answer to this question that couldn't be questioned itself... it's doubtful that anybody knows exactly. Hinduism is thought to be the oldest religion, but exactly who started it isn't very clear as far as I know. The earliest Hindu gods might give you a clue to follow is your're really interested in finding out who the guilty party actually is.
You ought to take a long look at St. Paul (Saul)... He set a lot of the christian dogma into stone and came along after the death of Jesus. It's at least possible that he saw that the "religion" of christianity could be organized into an established body.
I claim no expertice in saying any of this... It's only a fair guess.

this is not from a religious point of view but Ive heard ways to the way it was "invented" A teacher I once had said it was a way to explain what wasnt known and to give a point in why to have good morals. I mean I know most extremely religious people are better behaved than the ones with no morals.

Man did not invent Christianity.
The triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) has always existed, and there has always been a plan to save humanity from the consequences we make according to the free will He has given us.
"Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

In mankind's infancy, gods and spirits were invented to explain nature. As their minds developed and they became more curious, they invented a miriad of gods and goddesses. In time, through their awe, they began to worship them, and forms of religion were invented. Eventually, through fear of death, stories came about of a place to go after death that was nicer than their life here on earth. This story grew and developed until it worked it's way into the belief system of some of the religions.

The word orgin of "religion" meant doing, or something occurring on a steady schedule. IE ; brushing your teeth before bedtime, or going to the bank every Friday at lunch. Since people attended their faiths services, usually at the same time each week, we began to call faith and/or spirituality religion. I hope I explained my theory clearly.
