Hell no. The elderly can be some of the most stubborn people on the planet.

I think wisdom generally increases in old age - with most people but not all. You gradually discover that you don't have all the answers and so I think religious tolerance generally increases with age. Tolerance of other things though may go down as you get impatient with younger people's simplistic views. So I think tolerance of religious intolerance probably reduces with age!

There is a philosopher that goes by the name Kieerkagaard or something like that... He believes that a period of faith followed by a period of doubt followed by intense faith in old age is the normal course in everyone's life.

I think old people are just expressing their doubt and chosing to land on the safe side of Pascal's Wager as the end nears.

Not necessarily more "tolerant"...but definitely more wiser.

Wiser in knowing seeking to discern truth from falsehood. Wiser in knowing the difference between garbage and treasure. Wiser in knowing what to "tolerate" and what to just turn my back and walk away.

I do not follow religions. There is no shortcuts to a spiritual maturity. Tolerance does not have to be conforming with the wrong life style. : )

i think that depends on the way you are brought up, if your parents don't bring you up to be tolerant you have to learn it with age, but if your brought up in a tolerant and flexible family, it will already be there.

not age alone ,, wisdom ,, usualy associated with age,,,leads you to the conclusion that most mistakes are made when the avenue of thought you chose ,,was running paralell to the one you should have been using ,,,but the conection should have probably been made BEFORE the trouble began ,,thus the saying (( but I could be wrong ))
