This is what I do not understand
WHY WOULD AN ALL LOVING GOD SEND PEOPLE TO HELL, A PLACE OF ETERNAL FIRE AND TORMENT?
INFINITE TORTURE FOR FINITE SINS DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE, IT IS A LIE!
The churches know it is a lie ,but they want to keep it this way, how else would they get so many converts and so much money to feed their priests, or ministers?
Churches are big businesses ,YOU TAKE AWAY HELL AND HEAVEN THEY WILL BE BANKRUPT!
GOD IS NOT IN A BUILDING(CHURCH) IT IS WITHIN OURSELVES!

I think that anyone who deigns to put themselves in charge of your 'salvation' are out of line. It is a lifetime task for each of us to tend to our individual spiritual needs. It is not right that a person or group should dictate a spiritual path for others when they aren't dealing with thier own.
As far as Heaven and Hell goes, my opinion is this: if you are not happy with your life, if your life is miserable and there is no joy in your everyday existence, then you don't have to worry about 'going to Hell', because you're already living there. It is my firm beleif that heaven or hell is what we make our lives to be, in the here and now. For 'here' is where we always are, and 'now' is that one, eternal moment of existence we all ride, from birth to death. The 'present' is God's great gift to us. The past is but a shadow of things gone by that guide us to not repeating errors. The future is a field of potential that we hope to acheive. The here and now is all we really have, and it is in the present that we can make changes in our lives if we need to. I can't change yesterday. I can't change tomorrow. I can only accept today as yet another chance to 'do it right'; whatever that may mean on a day to day basis.

Yes, if that is what they are doing, but I have been to many churches and I have yet to see one that has used that approach. You can tell a person all day long that they are going to hell and majority don't even care because alot don't believe there is a hell. My church approaches people with Love first, and then we work on their salvation.

so here is my analogy If i am walking down the street you live on and I see you are in danger and I come to tell you that you are in danger, that means I am trying to SCARE you into seeing the danger you are in and in warning you get out of the house, what is my motive? It is no coincidence that Jesus spoke more about Hell then he did about Heaven. He came to warn us and to also share the good news that he was going to pay the price for our sins (all of them). That is what he did he lived a life no man could obtain Holiness..he died a painful death no one else would ever feel, and he went to hell and took the keys conquered the grave and won for you and me. But in short NO I do not think the church uses hell as a "scare tactic" it is called a warning..."wake up your house is on fire you are about to be consumed in it!!!" It is kind of like that...No fear tactic just a wake up and smell the coffee kind of thing.

A cursory survey of the New Testament shows that Jesus frequently spoke about Hell. The Church should follow the example set by Jesus. The Lake of Fire may not be the best motivator, but it motivates some people to close with Christ. They can learn better motivators as they grow in their walks with Christ.

People tend to have a wrong idea about hell. If, on the day of judgement, you are condemned, then you are condemned to die a second death. This amounts to a separation from God. It is a fallacy to think you are going to suffer eternally.

NO we dont get ppl to God by scaring them about HEll. But GOd tells us about His love and the gift of salvation, and He also tells us about the devil and how he will try and steal the gift from us, by leading us into sin. HE tells us to tell the world about how much He loves them, and to warn them also about the devil who comes so sneakily to try and take the gift from them by encourageing them to continue in sin and be lost.
Also God is sending noone to hell> There is a huge book caled the Bible where He tells us all of this, including the warnings of the devil IT is not His fault if we wont study it or believe it. WHen ppl go to hell, its because they refuse to follow God. So they put themselves in Hell. God has to end all sin and to do so, He must remove the sinners, or they would ruin heaven just like they do here with all of their sin. ITs all choice, and noone can blame God. WE all have equal opportunity to get a Bible, study and pray. Some will and some refuse, but then lets dont blame God He has been telling us for a long long time about it all.
Not His fault if only a few hear. ALl are called, but only a few will answer His call.
WE must tell yu about Heaven and HELL as God tells it to us, and we do so because He loves you and wants you saved, like He does all of us. WE love you too, so we warn you. If I saw yout little kid playing up on a busy road and at ruck was headed for him, would you want me to warn him in love, or ignore it and figure oh well, his problem??
Same thing here bud. same thing. we warn becasue we love and so does God. BEgin to take off the blinders and let us talk to you and tell you. We dont want to see even one lost. NOR DOES GOD.

absolutely, if I were 18 and lived this long without god ,,,how do you think you're going to scare me, it's imposable ,, so every time they say repent or hell , they'll need to show me the two-by-four their going to hit me with if I don't listen...Hell is as real as the light from the furtherest star from the earth in the sky ,, that things been burn't out for thousands of years , the light is just that (light) the star's gone .

Not at all, considering that it is written that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. That very fear comes, just as Jesus said, because we should fear that which can destroy both body and soul in hellfire, meaning God. Fear of the Lord being the beginning of wisdom is very true. I started out in repentance because I do not want to burn in hell, but have continued because of the relationship and love that is developing toward God in my heart for the love that He has shown the world in the giving of His son for the remittance of sin.
By the way, did you know that God never intended hell for man? He created it for Satan and his angels. But it is written that hell enlarges itself daily. That is sad. By omission of Christ in their lives, people do not realize it, but Satan counts that and collects it as worship.
