To make Muslims get united without saying shia or sunna is a great Idea brother, but I doubt it can be true soon.

I just can hope, at least, Muslims can respect other Muslims, without offend other sect, without say they are the only group will go to heaven, without put takfir to others, without mock each others.

And Ramadan spirit Insha Allah will motivate us, to remember that we are all real brothers and sisters, we have fasting in the same way, we read the same Quran, and we have same leader that we follow: Rasulullah Muhammad.

I think capn edib says it best. It would be nice if you would include non-Muslims as well. I am Christian and am engaged to a Muslim. I will be spending Ramadan in his country this year and will be observing Ramadan with him. Initially I would not be with him until the end of Ramadan (plans changed-long story) but I intended to observe it with him although I would have been in America. I have read many articles on the internet where some Christian ministers are urging the members of the church to participate as well in an effort to understand more about the Muslims and in the spirit of unity. Although we are in the minority, there are many Christians who support Muslims and try our best at every given opportunity to spread the peace of love of Islam and to attempt to educate the ignorant hate mongers that it is only a small percentage of Muslims who are terrorists and in my opinion they should not call themselves Muslims because they are not following the religion as intended. They take passages from the Quran and twist them to suit their evil plans. As a Christian I am honored to be observing Ramadan and pray for peace and the well being of all Muslims and an end to the hatred they experience from non-Muslims. May God bless you, all Muslims and all peoples throughout the entire world.

Your desire to unite the Muslims, is appreciable.

But what is more appreciable is that every human being, a Muslim or non-Muslim behave like brothers and sisters.

We should play at least our role in this greater aim no matter how Utopian it may look.

"Even as the fingers of the two hands are equal, so are human beings equal to one another. No one has any right, nor any preference to claim over another. You are brothers. "--Al-Quran.

"Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to people." --Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 9, #473

"O people! Your God is one and your forefather (Adam) is one. An Arab is not better than a non-Arab and a non-Arab is not better than an Arab, and a red (i.e. white tinged with red) person is not better than a black person and a black person is not better than a red person, except in piety."-- Narrated in Mosnad Ahmad, #22978.

"The first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed [killing and injuring] "--Narrated in Saheeh Muslim, #1678, and Saheeh Al-Bukhari, #6533.

"There is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human. "--Narrated in Saheeh Muslim, #2244, and Saheeh Al-Bukhari, #2466.

" O you men, surely we have created you of a male and a female and made you tribes and families that ye may know each other."--The Quran,[ 49:13 ]

" All his creatures are Allah's family for thier subsistance is from him, therefore the most beloved of Allah is the person who does greatest good to Allah's creatures."--The Quran

" We have not sent thee , O Mohammad, but [as] a mercy unto all creatures."-- The Quran,[xxi, p-326]

The teachings of Islam which I shared with you, should be taught to the bunch of Muslims who have deviated from the path of Islam. I am talking about the terrorists who are giving bad name to Islam and a tougher time for the rest of the Muslims defending Islam.

For them and the non-muslim hatemongers...........

"What is the best type of Jihad [struggle]?" He [Mohammad]answered: "Speaking truth before a tyrannical ruler."
Riyadh us-Saleheen Volume 1:195

May Allah bless everybody including non-muslims on this earth during Ramadan & forever.

Ameen.........

EDIT: My point Sir, is that we consider Islam is meant for Muslims only and that is why we often say' "If Muslims are united.. and show the world THEIR true Islam.....", as you said , beliving that Islam is their's only. I beleive Islam is meant for the whole humanity.

Hope it clarifies.

first get friendly towards ur muslim brother

give some gifts while meting
but dont expect returns from him
expect returns from the almighty allah as rewards

when he starts fighting tell him that ur fasting and cannot fight
this will make him think the deepnest of ur friendship and religion

talk friendly
forget about the past thing about the future
talk about worldly things as well as religion

and while departing invite him for iftar or some party
say dua while leaving

last but not the least ask dua to get united
if allah wills no worldly powers will stop u from getting united
and if allah does not will no worldly power can unite u both

the best time to ask dua in the month of ramadan
is at the time of sunset that is before breaking ur fast
inshallah allah will surely accept ur dua

Excellent Question. I personally think its high time we start to learn how to forgive ourselves and everyone else. Allah and his messenger Prophet Muhammed always maintained that it is better to forgive and make Peace. We cannot control goverment policies any where in the World but i personally believe its important to pray more to God especially the Tahujjud Prayer and ask Allah(SWT) for his guidance. He is the best to guide. I think we have to eleviate our thinking and have to start to see Human in all human beings. Remember as a Muslim, we have alot of obligations. Quran repeatedly asked for 3 things,
1) Constant Prayer
2) Constant Charity
3) Righteous Actions

Now Prophet Muhammed showed us those righteous actions. I think this ramadan, we should study his life and try to see how he Loved everyone and forgave everyone. Now is the time i believe we have to reflect more deeply and truthfully. Salam!

I agree that we can all live in harmony. Islam is Peace!! People just dont understand becoz they trust the media (media = lies!!) and they do not read the true sources (the Quran!!!). This is the main reason to their ignorance about Islam. Islam is peace, people need to find this fact out.

It would be great if you could include in your prayers respect for all people of the world and religions and pledge to oust out all those of your religion who kill and take life.

That would be a great thing - God Bless Allah

There is only One and the One is Love

It would be very bitter medicine to swallow, but for the sake of holy month Ramadan, I would accept Shia's as our brothers of Sunnis, except on 21st of Ramadan, when Shia's come over the streets and beat themselves.

I think the saddest martyrdom in Islam is the death of Uncle of Muhammad pbuh, Ameer Hamza (may Allah be pleased on him), If mourning the deaths would be allowed, Muhammad pbuh would had allowed to mourn that event in Islam occurred in Ghazwat al Uhad.
