There are many products out there today sole for the purpose of removing urine from carpets; however, sometimes the smell is left behind.

If you looking for something inexpensive ~ try vinegar and water. Mix 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. Spray the area, let set for 2-3 mins then dab up. This not only removes the urine but also removes the smell so the dog will not go back and use that place again...

I slung the carpet out. Had good quality Laminate Flooring installed and bought a mop and bucket. (Seriously!) Never had a problem with puppy pee from that day on.

Pup's aside, I became so enamoured of the sheer cleanliness and hygiene of Laminate vs Carpet, I realised I could never again live with a carpet. Frankly, they rather disgust me now. Harbourage for so much we'd really rather wasn't there ~ but is, despite our best efforts.

Just to add; No, I don't expect ye to rip up ye carpets. Nor do I work in the Laminate Flooring trade. But maybe that'll give ye something to consider some time? :-)

It's always critical to clean ASAP. If left too long the color can be destroyed by the acidity in urine.

If it is still wet and not old, you will be successful. There are many cleaners on the market but you can always DIY.
Blot first. Use some cold water with a bit of vinegar and blot, do not rub, into the area.
This will neutrilize the acidiy in urine. Blot out with paper towels or cloth. Repeat with vinegar water. Blot with clear water until clean. When done, place a towel over the area with a weight. This will wick remaining moisture.

If you want to clean it further, you can use dish soap or even shampoo to make a suds. Blot the suds into the area and then be sure to finish with cold water until all suds is removed. Blot and place a towel to finish.

DO NOT RUB your carpet. It will frizz the fiber tips.

This is going to sound disgusting but it does work, trust me i'm a moron ha ha. Get a packet of plastic tablespoons / teaspoons from a pound shop or another cheap shop ( believe me you are not going to re-use these! ). When your pup wee's, thats of course if you catch it at it, get your plastic spoon and get it up! Yuk, told you it was nasty. Spoon as much out of your carpet as you can, sprinkle a small amount of biological washing powder over the damp patch and leave it for 10/15 minutes. take a wettish old clean rag and scrub the powder in to the carpet. Leave it to dry then hoover it over. I know its gross but hey. its only puppy wee and it doesn't smell too bad really.

I guess that as you use the word "wee" rather than saying "my baby doggie goes to the bathroom/restroom on the carpet" that you are either in UK or Australia. In Aus we have a product called Carpet Power that you can get from Woolies or Coles and it really is good. In the UK I used to use Vanish carpet foam, which is not bad. I've heard bicarb works but haven't tried it myself. If it's really bad, try Rug Doctor or get the carpet man to call.

Try buying one of these foaming cleaners specially for carpets. Test an area first in a hidden corner or somewhere and then spray it onto the patch of carpet withe the wee on it. As the foam expands it lifts the pee out and you wipe or hoover up the foam. usually the foam will have deodorise in it to kill the smell as well. This worked for me very well.

hi, i had the same problem i always use a disinfect spay which is for animal bedding areas and then rub.
But to be honest, once the smell is there you dog will always go back and have another wee. Very hard to get out, i have tried all cleaning products and i have never found one that works. Vinegar is meant to be good for we stains, but it didnt work for me. I wish you all the luck.

Oh yeah I had that problem it's such a pain.

I would get something to absorb it out of the carpet like lots of paper towel or that really absorbant towel rags...

While wearing gloves I put the towel over it and put enough pressure for it to come out on the towel.

after absorbing all the excess I use a rag with soapy water to scrub it a little and then spray on the fabreez.

You dilute it by sprinkling water on it, then sop it up with a towel. Do this several times till you dilute and pick up all the pee you can.

Then spray the carpet with fabreeze or amway germicidal.
