I'm 15 and i stay up all night and sleep all day. Sometimes going to bed at 9 AM and getting up at 5 pm. A week ago my dad got gout in his hand and he started taking this medication to help get rid of it. Hes took if before and it makes him tired. So while he was taking it this time, i noticticed everyday when i got up that for the past week, hes been taking 3-4 hour naps. One time he gets up and hes just quiet. I noticed he coughed and it was a wet cough. He kept coughing on and off. I asked, "are you feeling okay?", "your acting strange". His replay was, "yes im fine dont worry." Ever since then (about 4 days ago it was until this day.) Hes been sleeping and has a wet cough. He has CHF, COPD, and Chronic Gout. Now i know the side effects of CHF are tiredness, shortness of breath, and all that. But do you think fluid is backing up into his lungs again?

His gout meds hes on are "indacin" or something.

When i get up between 4pm and 5pm hes always snoozing in his chair. I need to rearrange my sleeping schedule. My mom kinda noticied it but shes like "what can I do", "nothing". I'm like well, "Monday your taking him to the doctor to see if he has fluid around his lungs."

I just saw this and I hope your father was taken to the doctor! A wet cough, fatigue and shortness of breath can all be symptoms of fluid building up around the lungs and, left untreated, this can be fatal. This is particularly true in someone with CHF (congestive heart failure). Fatigue is the first symptom and sitting up to sleep shows that he is having respiratory (breathing) issues.

Are his ankles swollen? Stomach swollen? Is there an increase in urination? A decrease in appetite? Nausea present? These are just more symptoms.

Please, your father needs immediate medical attention. If he did not see a doctor, please take him to the E.R.
