It is our responsibility and our civic duty. Reporting illegal aliens is another way to voice our stance on illegal aliens as well as a way to report crime.

Hi,

as a citizen it is NOT your (legal) responsibility to report illegal aliens. It is the responsibility of the government and its agencies to prevent illegal entry into your country.

However, we all know how easy it is for people to get into the country (sometimes quite legally, say on a holiday visa) and then stay to work (usually on the 'black' market) and live for long periods.

Although it is not your responsibility it would be of benefit to the over-worked immigration authorities to get information about illegal aliens.

So...it's up to you and your conscience. Illegals DO comprise a significant portion of 'cash in hand' work, often at rates no legal worker would accept, so a cosequence of removing ALL illegals could, and would, result in generally higher prices for some commodities.

At the same time many legal citizens are prevented from getting work, solely because the illegal faction is willing to do it cheaper, so there is a very real cost to the country of providing the hated 'welfare' for such people.

As I said...it's up to you and your conscience, if you feel strongly one way or the other follow your heart. Look at the situation carefully, there can be many people affected by an arrest and deportation, not always just the 'illegal', but sometimes legal citizens, who may then have to pay more for the same service (such as, for example, child care) and may be seriously financially affected.

Look inside your heart and go with what YOU think is right.

There are no black and white rules (that's not a racist comment!) and every situation is different and very personal to the affected people.

Good luck in making the right choice

How are you suppose to know or suspect that they are illegals??? Because there Mexican or another race besides White??? I am a US Citizen and I live in a place where there are alot of different races so if I were to spend my time suspecting that this one or that one is illegal then I would be spending all my time on the phone and I got much better things to do with my day and I would think that you do too. Let the officials deal with the big stuff.

Only if you know they're illegal! I honestly don't know what evidence one might have to have to feel justified in reporting anyone to the immigration authorities. I think it would be considered harrassment otherwise.
Immigrants should be welcomed into our country and as neighbors. I wouldn't feel compelled to report anyone to authorities unless I had pretty good evidence and felt secure in that evidence that I was right and then I'd have to think about the consequences of my actions from a human standpoint. And, don't get me wrong about how I feel about securing the border between the United States and Mexico, because I believe it should be secured forthwith.
And I believe criminals should be sent back without court trial unless a felony is involved and then they should be punished to the limits of the law.
Thanks
Thanks

Is my responsibility to report you to the FBI if I think you are conspiring to commit unlawful discrimination because you are going to do this because of their race?

Is it their responsibility to sue you if they lose their jobs because you are wrong?

It is your responsiblity to do what you think is right, but all that is going to happen is that some clerk at ICE is going to have a good laugh at your expense.

If you suspect they are SMUGGLING illegal aliens, or procuring phony or stolen IDs, then you should call.

I don't know. I learned something about being innocent until proven guilty when I was growing up.

I think the situation has to change drastically, but I don't know where we will end up with non-criminals and non-gang members, and how would I know which of the kids in my sons' boy scout troup were illegally here, anyhow?

Depends. Do you suspect that they are here to harm you or other people, then yes...of course. But DO NOT assume that every person that doesnt "Seem" American is not here with out legal papers.
If someone who is here you suspect is illegal and is working hard, minding their own business and working hard to provide for their family....let them be. You could be tearing a family apart. Please. I have traveled to other countries and seen first hand how theese people live and please understand that they would do anything to get out of those conditions and I dont blame them.
Good Luck and I truely hope you make the right descion.

We can be charged for failure to report a felony; why shouldn't a citizen be responsible for reporting the crime of illegal immigration.

If you saw a person who looked like a terrorist about to commit an act of terror, would you not do anything?
