Love is a strong feeling that comes from the heart. When you see someone you love, it makes you heart bounce, almost so it feels like it will come right out of your chest. Love is understanding, kind, and the best feeling you can ever have. It can also be hurtful, but a risk worth taking. One of my favorite quotes......"it is better to have love and lost, then to never have loved at all."

Caring for someone or something more then you do yourself.
It does not matter if is a person, animal or thing.
Anytime you do something for someone without expecting anything in return would be a good example of love.
Sometimes people will volunteer or give money but often it is to fell good about oneself.

I have had to answer this to my boyfriend recently.
To me, Love is a deep feeling from within yourself that is full of adoration, wanting to do and please someone else over yourself.
Someone once told me that to love someone means you would die for that person. For example, If someone is so sick and ready to leave earth, the other person would pray for God to take them so that their loved one could live. I always thought that if someone is going to shoot someone, the other person would jump in the way or push someone out of the way of a speeding car, that sort of thing.
I have never really been in love until recently. I love my boyfriend. I want to be with him, help him, do things for him. It is compromising with each other in order to please the other. I don't necessarily want to be with him 24/7. He is one of my best friends. To me that is what love is.
Of course you also have other types of love, brotherly love, loving your parents, etc...
