Why when in Bristol 2006 when Jeff Gordon shoved Matt Kenseth he was fined $10,000 and put on probation, but Kevin Harvick & Juan Pablo Montoya can jump out of their cars during a race and have a shoving match, yet nothing was done? Nascar needs to get more consistant on dishing out penalities.

Once again it shows Nascar inconsistency with their fickle rule making *roll eyes*. I can 't believe myself that Kevin or Montoya weren't fined.

John Darby who is one of the "Nascar Big Wigs" even said that he loved the excitement and Robin Pemberton said that they were just discussing thing's . *Wide Eyed* Like yeah right ,what ever .

You watch the next time this happens Nascar will fine the bee jeeber's out of the driver's involved

Get with the program Nascar ! This isn't wrestling or boxing .If I wanted to see a fight I would watch boxing or wrestling ,but wait I wouldn't do that as I can't stand either sport .

NASCAR doesn't know what it is doing most of the time. They can't make there minds up the same two times in a row or everything is the same even if it isn't.
What those two did is the way it used to be handled and I loved it and am proud that NASCAR let it go but semi under control. That is like the short track stuff you see at your home track.
I applaud NASCAR (which is unusual for me because I am thoroughly disgusted with there series in the last 6 years) for having the balls not to fine them. I know the Montoya haters hated to see him not fined but hey.
The Gordon thing was much different and no way similar. That being said I personally thought Gordon should have been given extra points and money for his out of character bully attitude. I am not a Gordon fan by no means and hope to never be but BRAVO to the guy.

Come on kitkat, you got to be kidding! That wasn't entertaining. It is probably the best thing I have seen in NASCAR all year after the incident when Kyle Busch took out his brother (loved that).
Let them go at it. It builds rivalry. NASCAR has become so squeeky clean you can't even say $hit with out getting a fine and points penalty.
I don't think Jeffy should have been fined last year (and I am no Gordon fan by a long shot) You're pissed off and you want to do something about! Let them have at it.

yea sure simone, nascar is out to get hendrick drivers! hahahaa riiiiiiiiiiiight...

This is a good point though, but nascar is always inconsistant with penalities... I think it may have been cuz it (Harvick, Montoya) was right after the wreck... The Gordon, Kenseth thing happened in the pit area after the drivers should have had a few minutes to calm down... Also, Harvick, Montoya were both talking trash, while Kenseth was trying to appologize and Gordon basically attacked him (with his helmet on though! hahaha what a girl)!

NASCAR is not very consistant with penalties. It all depends what your name is. It seems lately that Harvick gets away with a lot of things. For real NASCAR fans we learn to deal with it. It does stink sometimes but there is really nothing we can do about it except maybe right our dissagreements to nascar. I have written many letters to them and only received one response.

Depends on how entertaining it is i guess. Look the guy who tried to get Matt Kenseth's autograph during the red flag got a fine and time in jail....hhhmmmm

First I would like to say I am a Harvick fan. that said i felt there should have been some reprimand for the shoving match. I can accept and agree with no fine for the use of his bad word. However, a shoving match on the track isn't entertaining and isn't necissary. I think Nascar has become so inconsistent that it leaves most of us open jawed when we see what the big wigs let slide and what they fine people for.

I agree consistency is an issue with this governing body. But speaking as a basketball, I'm glad they're not so hard & fast, that they come up with some system of punishment that unfairly penalizes a contending team (i.e. Phoenix- San Antonio series- NBA playoffs).

He got fined for being such a wuss : ) He is a great champion and I respect him as a driver but that is the day he lost ALL street credibility with me. It's pretty bad if you have to leave yor helmet on to confront Matt Kenseth.

Harvick and Juan Pablo looked like 2 school girls pushing each other.
Gordon on the other hand went looking for Kenseth.
