DEUTERONOMY 22 (verse 21)
...she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father's house. You must purge the evil from among you."

From the answers i have read it appears that the christians have decreed that the old testament is void. When you point out John 3:16 to them and ask if that makes the old testament void they say no but if you point something out from the old testament they say "that doesn't count" or "the old testament is meant for jews only"

One of Jesus' distinguishing characteristics was his love and understanding of women who were looked down upon by the religious fundamentalists of his day. A Christian is someone who accepts Jesus. Accepting Jesus means not only accepting his gift of eternal life but also accepting his teaching and example as an authoritative guide for behavior. No Christian would stone his daughter for any reason.

What has happened in your life that would cause you to be blind to this most obvious of Christian characteristics? You have posted two almost identical questions on this topic. Perhaps contact with the same fundamentalist mentality that Jesus so opposed when he walked the earth in the flesh.

Not everything that calls is self Christian is Christian. Even you in asking this question imply that the stoning of the non-virgin daughter is somehow associated with Christian. This happens all of the time. Be alert and look to the Gospels of the New Testament for the real Christ.

To Brian: ALL Christian Bibles have Deuteronomy in it. There are seven books that are in the Catholic Bible that are not in protestant bibles. They are: Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus, Baruch, and 1 & 2 Maccabees.

Your mistake is probably the result of the term these books are often given: "deuterocanonical" (meaning second collection).

if she had made "mistakes" and was sorry, and had repented and wanted to start over fresh in life and do better, with someone worthy, then ...no

if she was just a s**t, going to one man to another, with no respect for God or family, selfish, living in rebellion, then she is already dead......her soul is lost and damned..I would not stone her because the laws are against this now...but I would feel like it.......her marriage would not last anyhow because she would be unfaithful and cheat on whoever she married. ..and whoever she married would be probably be as bad as her, and would cheat on her too...so the marriage is a useless thing to pursue.....her behavior would cause great heatbreak for the family.....so I would only have minimal contact with her, because of the heartache, and I would pray for her salvation.

The passage you site is under the Law of Moishe (Moses) and Jesus has set us free from strict adherence to that Law through the Law of Grace, so if I had a daughter I would not stone her, but then if I had a daughter she would not be dating guys that were likely to get her pregnant.

Truth be told. The old testiment form of punishing people for there sins no longer applies since the death of Jesus pays whe wages of sin. It is like he said when they were going to stone Mary Magdilan " Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. " Obviously none was without sin so noone cast the first stone.

You greatly misunderstand the message of the New Testament.

Christ fulfilled the law of Moses. Christians are not bound by the law. We are bound to follow and obey Jesus Christ.

god bless

Christians don't throw stones at sinners. They were winned to Christ.

Christian parents were to blame if their children were not virgin when they get married because their children were not christians.

Christian children, grounded in the Word of Truth would never disappoint their parents and most especially their Heavenly Master...

Its the duty of parents to nurture and bring up in admonition of the LORD their God given children, its their ministry...
