for believing in a concept there is no proof exists? IF I told you I could grant you three wishes why don't you believe me? How many more examples of this delusional thinking do you need to get a grasp on reality? Prove to me God exists. we can take my care and i'll pay for the gas. tell him we are coming and we will settle this right now.

Knowing christians you will probably grab the steering wheel and kill us both out of spite as you know there is proof

Well, first of all, I'm an atheist, so I'm not arguing for religion. But let's just postulate the following were true about some religious person:

1. They are happy and feel safe when they follow and believe their religion.
2. The enormity of the universe terrifies them when they have contemplated it.
3. They feel miserable existential angst when then contemplate a universe without their god.
4. They believe that they could never find any meaning or purpose in life without their god.

So there are two types of logic they could apply here:
1) Wow, you know, there is no real indication, much less proof of the existence of god, so it would intellectually dishonest for me to believe. I will believe in the objective universe as I see it, and live my miserable life without purpose and in terrible pain. OR

2) Ya know, I feel really comfortable in the arms of the church. There are plenty of people who accept the same stuff I do, so it must be ok. I don't really have the time or energy to question anything, because I'm pretty busy being happy in my beliefs.

So I put it to you... which is the smarter approach. It might be entirely rational for a religious person to believe - because evolution has given us all kinds of motivations and mechanisms for being happy, and -- at least for some people - that leads them to religion.

Now, of course, not all people feel like #1 above (probably not many), but it's intended to illustrate that sometimes, the wisest or smartest choice is not necessarily the truth. Sometimes, and some people, need something to hold on to. And science and rationality don't necessarily give them what they need.

Christians have a belief of faith, or trust in the unknown, people are gullable and believe in things, to satisfy themselves, but I believe in God I don't go by tradition, actually far from it, it's just believing in something, it's like winning tattslotto, you have no proof your going to win, and most of the time you don't, but people still religiously go and buy a ticket, believing this week is going to be the week they win the big one.

Yeah, how can we not be classified as stupid? We should think like the atheist and believe out of nowhere some bang happen and life came to existence even though theres no proof of it, and we evolved from monkeys eventhough there is no proof for it. Yeah, your right, I am stupid for not believing that.

I think you don't fear God, and if you believe that way, nobody can persuade you but you should not say that people who believe in God were stupid.

God says nature is enough proof that He exist. The beauty of His creation, the Bible, christian testimony and your conscience were enough. Some day you will find out, perhaps 50 years after we will all see what belief is right.

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

"Religion is a major weapon in the war against reality."

"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful." — Seneca the Younger (4BC-65AD).

"A mythology is someone else's religion, different enough from your own for its absurdity to be obvious."

"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too ?" — Douglas Adams.

How can NASA not be seen as a joke due to the fact that launch after launch somehow damages the ship and could(as well as has) killed innocent people....

If I could prove to you God exists, don't you think I would have already. You need to find God for yourself, I can't show Him to you.
