Theres a photo competition on, I would really like to win it but i only have a fujifilm s5200/s5600. The judges really like images that show off photography skill (exposure aperture etc.) i can control and understand that stuff. But the winners used exposures and reflections off water. Anything that really stands out as photographic genius is what they like.

I dont know what kind of photo to take?

running water? beautiful skies etc...

please give any tips or kinds of photos i should take and the settings...

Thanks all you photography wizzes

Theres no set category and i can enter 4 images

ok, I guess you should have a look at Deviant art.

Just type in the anything you want and it gonna show you what other photographers have done according to the key word and get thier ideas and try that yourself. I wish you the best.

Your photography should be an expression of you - not an attempt to copy what others have done. Viewing past winners might give you an idea of what the judges like but your entries still need to be uniquely yours.

Shoot from different angles. Shoot water rushing away from you instead of coming at you. Shoot flowers back-lit so the light illuminates the petals like stained glass.

Visit AIRC-Adorama Imaging Resource Center. You'll finds lots of informative articles about photography and how to do different things. I like the section on Special Effects Photography.

Good luck.

my advice is go with your heart. Get out and take hundreds of pics and use your judgement on what you like. Photography is a expression of oneself through what you take. the biggest prize is knowing that you and you alone have taken this photo and nobody will be able to duplicate it. the clouds will be different, the birds, the flowers the wind...all will be different. let your eyes capture what you want. I have said if i can look at a picture and it tells a story then i have done something that down the road people might be able to see the story or create one when they look at it. Good luck and get out there and capture the world according to you.

For 'Out of this world' you could take an abstract photo which pictures an unidentifiable object or scene or take a photo of something we wouldn't normally see with the naked eye. For example, the surface of a sheet of paper. Get closer and you'll see it's actually very rough. The macro button reveals a lot of hidden treasures. Play around and see what you come up with.
