I drink my 2 litres of water a day.
But is tap water just as good as bottled water?

Tap water and bottled water is different. Tap water contains germs and is not purely distilled. Bottled water is purely distilled and is safe for drinking. If you are drinking tap water, I suggest that you boil it to kill some of the germs. ((:

Depends on a number of factors. What is the source of your tap water. Does it come from groundwater, river, lake, etc. (different sources can have different minerals at different levels which can affect taste.) How is it processed...some municiple filtration systems are better than others. Some use more chemicals. And then there are bottled waters which are from tap water. It might even be from the same tap water in your home. Sometimes the tap water is pretty good, but has a strong mineral flavor or odor. And sometimes that can be removed by using one of those filtration pitchers by Britta or other companies. One thing to consider in tap water is the condition of the water pipes in your home (or office, or where ever you get the water.) Water pipes that are over 20 years old sometimes used lead solder, and that lead can leach into water sitting in the pipes, and then can be ingested. Not good. Sometimes bottled water is less healthy because beneficial minerals have been removed. Sometimes bottled water can have bacteria not found in tap water. So I guess the answer depends on the quality of the tap water in your home and area where you live, and what type of bottled water you use.

There is a very big debate on exactly that question.
Most places have a very good filtration system and it is checked many times during the day ..
Now bottled water we sometimes don't exactly get what we are paying for. Very important to check where it was bottled and if it is really from a spring.. and they don't have the strict guidelines as to checking the purity of it like some cities do with the tap water...
I drink bottled water because I like the taste.. but now that I know not all bottled water is the same.. I pick and choose what I buy and where it comes from..
I really think taste is what its all about because they are about even on everything else (most times) depending on what city your tap water is from or what company you are buying your bottled water from..

Tap water is obviously less expensive, and as long as your tap water tastes OK, it's fine to drink, I drink a couple of liters each day at work from the tap. And some of the bottled water companies have admitted to using filtered tap water. I think it was Aquafina recently that said they used tap water. On the bottle where it lists the source, it said "PWS". That stands for public water supply.

I don't care really, but I keep bottled water around because it increases my chance of actually drinking more water than if I had to get it from the faucet..like when I am leaving the house(which I'm a busy momma)so it's worth buying a 24 pack of bottled water every month..AND THEN I REFILL THE BOTTLES out of the tap to kinda recycle them a few times...But if it helps me get my daily intake of water it's kewl

My tap water tastes fine so I drink it. When away from home I buy bottled. Other towns water tastes different. I find bottled water doesn't have a distinctive taste.

I have bought bottled spring water and refill the bottles with my filtered refrigerator water. I think my tap water is not good because I can see the white residue in my sink and dishwasher. I put a little bit of CLR in my dishwasher and my dishes come out fairly clean. When I don't do this, they have white spots on them.

Like said before it depends where you are and what kind of pipes you have. if you live in a filthy part of the world with old and rusty pipes or if your water supply isn't treated then i suggest you drink bottled water. if your water supply is clean then stick to tap water 'cause its much cheaper.
