woah.... yeah, i probably would. But, luckily i haven't done that yet. I'm not *so* outspoken about my beliefs (or unbeliefs) to affect anyone that much, thankfully. =/
I guess i would feel bad, because i have a lot of Christian friends who believe really strongly in Christianity, that i don't really like contradicting them because, well..... i would just feel bad.

I would feel bad but I would never purposefully disillusion anyone. It's your opinion that my answer would disillusion the person asking because you are a christian and I am an atheist. I feel like if someone asked you a question, you would encourage them to do nonsensical things that would limit the experiences that are available to them in their short time on this earth. You think my answer would encourage them to purchase a one-way ticket to "the lake of fire." I can see why you're so adamant, given the crazy stuff you believe in. But it's not true to me. And I am not limited to it. And even then, I don't ever push those beliefs onto anyone.

I'm an agnostic, but I would not feel sad if they were disillusioned. People should be able to think for themselves. If freeing a person from the bondage of believing in something that may or may not exist results in tears, at least they are better off knowing the truth now.

Maybe.
If I asked a question that made them realize that their dead mother wasn't actually in heaven, then yes, I would feel bad.
If, on the other hand, I made them realize that Jesus supported slavery, and they were disillusioned by that, then I would figure that the crying was an understandable manifestation of a very emotional, and very healthy epiphany. I wouldn't feel bad about that; I'd feel good.

In general, I do feel bad when I make a decent person sad, especially if they're not bothering me. However, if you're going into a public Internet forum, you should expect that people might write things that might offend you. If you're easily offended, you should stay away or grow a thicker skin. Also, if a single question could disillusion you, your faith must be weak to begin with.

Yes. Everyone WANTS to believe in something. A loving God and an afterlife would be wonderful things if they were true, I would certainly like to be around forever. So when someone loses that faith, they are bound to be heartbroken. Luckily (or maybe not), I don't think anyone has ever changed their religious view based on what they read in Yahoo! Answers.

if someone cried because they felt disillusioned, then that seems to be their own problem.
yup realizing you could have been wrong and lied to your whole life can really make you cry sometimes.
I myself would choose crying over being naive.

No, not really. It isn't like we are trying to actually kill them. No bonfires or stakes are happening here.

Not this atheist. I'd know it'd be better for them in the long run.
