I mean besides world wars. Even inside the christian home when a brother or sister is not doing god's work or not being as good of a christian as you are you then doing god's work by hating and punishing and shunning and just beating the living crap out your fellow man "in god's name of course"

Yes, hate of people not like them, hate of other religions, hate of gays. I've learned more hate from christians than most hate groups. I wonder how Jesus feels about this?

I'm a Christian and I say NO.
Christian have a bad rap because .... I don't even know why. One thing we have to remember is, we are talking about people. The bible teaches that we all have sin and fall short, only JESUS was and is perfect, so therefore CHRISTIANS who do the things you mentioned are only being what everyone else is ---- HUMAN. If there was no error then there would be no need for correction. Most of all you can chalk those type of actions up to something totally different -- IGNORANCE! Why IGNORANCE? Because GOD does not MAKE anyone follow him it is a choice.

CHRISTIANS are not perfect so the world needs to stop looking for perfection! Donny M. said it better than I can explain it --- For a saint is just a sinner who fell down and got up.

Not so much one of them not doing God's work as it is one or both of them 'keeping score.' God only asks for our best. If our best is not as good as someone else's best, there is no need for us to feel inferior.

Too often people think that they are better Christians because they know more verses or have gone on more mission trips. Conversely, some think that they have to keep up with these self-proclaimed Super-Christians. This competition builds resentment, which in turn creates conflict.

So, I would have to say that human nature creates hate, and religions are just one more medium that humankind has to manifest that hate in.

I read this article the other day (a near-death experience actually) where this atheist meets several entities on the other side and he was told that if humans had their way, there would have been SO many wars. But because God intervened (after all, it is HIS creation and he didn't want to see it get wrecked), He allowed only a few wars to occur.

Humans are violent. I don't care what excuse they use.

Certain Christian (versions) accelerate hate by proclaiming to know the way of the Lord, when in fact, they are the people that are shouting to get attention, but on a different token, some true Christians, are very understanding and non-judgemental. Scour the internet and you will find so many churches & organisations that believe they are right, but infact they are wrong, I don't believe that God's plan for his people was to generate a negative stigma against certain cultures, people, or backgrounds. In fact it is the opposite to show love & compassion for the prosititute, and welcome beggers into their homes, as equals. (not exactly that but love one another for them not their traights)

Not at all. Some Christians just use Christianity as an excuse to start wars and to be hateful.

So can you honestly say you have never raised your voice in anger, even if you are in a traffic jam?
This issue with anger hits every household, seen it as a Christian. Knew it when I was not, as I wasn't Christian when I was in an abusive marriage. And was beaten and degraded.
Hate is just that hate, and it knows no boundaries.

That's not the way it's supposed to be. Some Christians are just misinformed. As far as the punishing... it's supposed to come from the heart. If you're punishing with rage and anger it is not Godly.

Christians are persecuted everyday. Go to www.persecution.com
If a muslim converts to Christianity and their families find out, they'll do more than beat the living crap out of them. That's why alot of them will do it in secret.

I think you have gotten the wrong picture of Christianity. Jesus did everything in all his works and teachings based on LOVE, not hate.
There are sinners in Christianity as with any religion but that does not detract from the validity of LOVE which is its basis.
