My husband, wants me to watch it.

If you've seen it, what do you think?

I'm intrigued by how many people who say "don't watch it" don't say they saw the movie (and impressed by those who did). FWIW, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I hope to. I *did* see "Roger and Me" and "Bowling for Columbine" and they were fascinating! There were parts I agreed with, and parts I didn't agree with, and parts that made me laugh out loud. But most important, they made me THINK as they entertained. For example, I never knew Michael Moore was a member of the NRA (he is), and the scenes where he was given a free rifle for opening a bank account (in the midwest, I believe) were amusing because they were *real.* He doesn't say "guns are bad." He says, "We've got a problem with guns in this country; let's look at why that might be," and goes on from there. I recommend his work, especially to people who feel secure enough in their opinions to be able to judge for themselves.

None of the people who viciously attack Michael Moore on sites like this have ever actually seen one of his movies (if you have, hats off to you for actually trying to be informed on a subject, rather than just take somebody else's word what you should think).
I saw Fahrenheit and Columbine. I thought both were well made movies and provacative documentaries. Obviously he has strong opinions many people will disagree with, but that's kind of the point of documentaries, isn't it? I think he went far out of his way to document what he says and not make statements with no evidence, unlike most of the people attacking him. See it and decide for yourself.

You do know that several people who were "in" that movie (who had no idea they were in the movie because he bought footage from news agencies and misrepresented what was actually being talked about) are suing him for defamation of character after they saw the movie and how they were used to make his point of view; one they didn't agree with and would have never consented to being in that movie had they known he was going to use them. If you MUST watch that piece of crap movie, follow it up with FahrenHype 9/11...the counter documentary. It will at least balance the lies in his "documentry" out.

It was absolutely terrible, IMO.

I'm not saying don't watch it, but if you do, please keep in mind that most of his "facts" have no basis in reality. He does not cite the majority of his sources. And the majority of his assumptions have already been disproved.

Actually, it has been a long time since I saw it...he may have cited his sources and I just forgot...I still disagreed with his views though.

Make sure you have plenty of popcorn and soda. ;-)
