Love the sinner not the sin. We do it all the time when we look beyond someones bad habits and love the person we see underneath. Satan never has to disguise himself as a human, every human has a Satan part of them that they don't let be seen very often. How many times have you heard " The devil made me do it". ?

Dear Sandra B,

The answer would be "Yes" but you need to understand that in its proper context. For the Christian the idea is that every person that crosses our path- gets loved! Now loving someone with the love of God would include not following things that are not of God and in fact even warning that person about why it's not a good thing to disobey God.

As you shared hypothetically one would not know that they are interacting with Satan and so obvioulsy Satan's purpose in disguising himself and interacting with people would be to try to draw them away from God.

Hope that helps and is clear. Kindly,

Nickster

If you read the descriptions of Satan you could not help but love him. Satan would appear as your ideal, a perfect tempter.
Satan is not real. It is a fable meant to teach a lesson.
How many times have you seen things that were just too perfect to be real? Things that after they collapsed were obviously lies, but you which you chose to believe simply because it was what you wanted to believe.

Not if you find out that your neighbor isn't really your neighbor but is really Satan disguised as your neighbor. Then the thou shall not love my neighbor rule over rides the thou shall love my neighbor rule which Jesus won't hold against you.

Satan... funny thing. The Jews don't think of him except as an accuser (like in the book of Job). He didn't take on this demonic evil thing until Christianity hit Rome and low and behold... the river Styx and Haydes of methology is beign tought to us in Sunday School.

I don't know... was Satan living next to you at the time? If so, I don't know if I'd want to rush into anything. Maybe invite him over for tea sometime, or just hang out with mutual friends. Take things nice and slow and see where it takes you. Good luck :D

Love thy neighbor refers to the people around you, not angelic beings.
