Is it ok for me to dye my hair if it has hairspray in it?

I have hair spray in my hair from curling it the day before can I still dye my hair or do I have to wash it. Also I hurd its better if your hairs a little dirty so the color can stick.

just rinse it out, don't shampoo
your hair is supposed to have some oils in it when you dye, not be squeaking clean
